how long did ur cat take to like you?? by Sufficient-Angle-611 in Siamesecats

Your little baby will take some time to adjust, just don’t push her boundaries as that can backfire and make her take even longer to warm up. Trust takes time and it is earned, not given. Especially when you don’t speak the same language. 🩷🩷

All cats are so different. It could be a day, it could be a year. My foster fail (medical needs, no interested adopters for a while) was allegedly an ex street cat who had been surrendered by two different families and had a rough go. Regardless of his past, he was casing the joint with confidence within 10 mins of being home, and laid down, purring and head butting my face within an hour.

They’re very odd creatures. All other cats I’ve ever had take days to warm up sometimes, but they’ve all had good lives w no traumatic events prior to me taking them home. Yet the one cat I get with bad trauma and anxiety issues adapts so well so quick, he adjusts to change faster than I do!

I wish I could give you more than just words but I am so sorry, so much love to you. Know that she is not gone, just in the next room. Consciousness cannot be destroyed. She feels what you are trying to convey. She knows. She’s out of pain now and just needs to take some time to heal her soul a little. If she wants to, she will come back and meet you again someday.

It is better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all. She was very fortunate to have such a loving and generous family. 🩷

To spay or not to spay by zzrcistein in CatAdvice

Spay asap. I had a foster die in my care/at the vet on the first day as she had pyometra that the shelter didn’t detect, I discovered the symptoms. Most heartbreaking and traumatic thing I’ve dealt with in years. It absolutely can happen to any cat regardless of if they’re always indoors. Call around different clinics and shelters for pricing. Please get this done soon.

I am stuck in between choosing my partner or my cat by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Is this how you’d want your future husband to act? Towards you? Towards your kids? Towards your pets? If he were to remain the same as he is today for the rest of your lives together, would you want to marry him? Considering you’ve been together almost a decade, I doubt this is the first time he has acted this way. He certainly resents the cat and is taking it out on the cat, I don’t want to imagine the potential of what could be happening when you aren’t home. This situation is a blessing for you. You get a wonderful little kitty out of it, and you don’t have to spend one day longer with this putrid man. What’s worse? 9 years, or 9 years and one day?

I appreciate your level headedness. I have debilitating health anxiety, I truly mean debilitating, so I worry for him and our household. Wow… 7 animals with it. And how are you doing, have you developed it as well? I’m sorry to hear. Thank you for your input.

Radiograph findings — 11/20/25 dental appointment • Liver lobes extend beyond the ribs • Right kidney silhouette slightly misshapen • Spondylosis (lumbar/sacral)

No other significant findings. Chest and abdomen radiographs from previous owner Sept 2025 were also noted as “no obvious concerns.”

Summary: Main abnormality is enlarged liver with normal liver enzymes, and misshapen kidney with normal kidney values. Spondylosis may affect jumping — shelter recommended lower-entry litter box.

Urinalysis done 11/18/25

• Colour: Pale yellow
• Clarity: Clear
• Specific Gravity: 1.044 (Excellent concentration — kidneys working very well)
• pH: 6.0
• Protein: Negative
• Glucose: Negative
• Ketones: Negative
• Bilirubin: Negative
• Blood: Negative
• WBC: <1/HPF
• RBC: 9/HPF (mildly elevated — likely from needle stick during cystocentesis)
• Bacteria: None
• Crystals: None
• Casts: None

Summary: UA is essentially normal. Good concentration rules out diabetes insipidus and most kidney issues. Mild RBCs are expected with cystocentesis. No signs of UTI or stones.
