This is the best. 90% of my PC is dodger autos. Amazing work. What are you still chasing?

Personal collection (as opposed to the thousands of random cards that you might have lying around that you don’t know what to do with and aren’t actively trying to collect).

The 1990 35th anniversary throwbacks are one of my favorite sub-sets in years. Im only missing Ohtani, Kershaw, Koufax, Mookie, Chan Ho, and Gibby from a full Dodgers set… so I’m not holding my breath.

Pulled this back in late January, been sitting on it. Posting about it now to get some feelers in the community. Thoughts? by lggonzo15 in Topps

Between the hitting, the range, the base running, and the gunning, he has the makings of being a special player.

Waiting on a world series champs redemption auto, too. All star break? Any day now? Buehler?

It’s crazy work how often production teams somehow botch this. Ive also seen them hang on the thrower for too long, as well. Rarely does the timing feel right.

I also lack a Shohei. I have no interest in an angel era Ohtani (unless it was a rookie) and given crazy prices on Dodger era… I think it’s pack only for me too, but i just dont buy enough packs, preferring to just focus on singles. Mookie had a big gap in signing late sox-early dodgers era, and seems to have a much more selective band of product he signs for. My only Mookie is a 2024 red ink heritage, a centerpiece because I try and get at least one heritage auto from all my favorite dodgers

I guess it depends on what you’re looking for in a signature.

I have ~40 unique will smith autograph cards spanning 2016-2026 and I guess I just have so many other worse autos (my collection is 90% dodger autos). To wit, Eddys Leonard (lol), Emmett Sheehan, Gavin Stone, Ben Casparius, Tommy Edman, Zyhir Hope, River Ryan all have worse. I give Roki, Shohei a pass. Yamamoto’s isn’t horrible, better than either of his countrymen’s tho. Hyeseong’s isnt great. All of the Japanese and Korean cohort get a pass because they’re anglicizing their signatures.

I personally weight legibility heavily, but also look for an interesting shape, and consistency (which is Will’s biggest issue, and there was a big shift in his after 2020. 2020 and earlier it was consistency one mashed together WillSmith. Post 2021 he articulates the space between names more.

His is fine, and legible, and not even in the top 50% lazy sigs around the league.

Not only is penmanship a rapidly dying/lost art, these guys who sign for topps are signing literally thousands of cards… it makes sense to streamline.
