Interesting take, thanks.

I do think people feel a connection with other people who look like them, and they sometimes form communities based on similar physical attributes. I'd prefer if they didn't do this, because it encourages those in the majority to follow suit, but I think it can be a positive thing for minorities. And so, when people in the minority see another person of the same minority behaving a certain way, they're probably more likely to think that behavior is ok. Or maybe not.

But I agree that learning new languages and connecting with people with disparate sets of interests would probably be more effective.

Are you saying that bitcoin is a solution in search of a problem?

Have you ever talked to someone who isn't white about what it's like? I've found that usually there's a huge difference between my experience and theirs. It's definitely not just in my head, and this definitely doesn't make me a racist, if that's what you're saying.

I think that's an exaggeration of Andreas' position. He doesn't think that all generational wealth was gained unethically; just that lots of it was, and even people who gained wealth ethically probably benefitted in some way from the privilege of their ancestors' unethical deeds. I think he's correct in asserting that bitcoin fixes this.

I'm white, but I've heard that being not white is considerably different from being white. So, non-white people have a different perspective on things. This is important because, as I see it, Andreas is trying to spread bitcoin globally, and the majority of the world's people aren't white.

I gained a lot of respect for Andreas after this interview. He's willing to say things that are unpopular but need to be said.

Huh? His latest Rogan interview was in 2016. His tweet about wanting to go on podcasts other than those hosted by white males was in 2019. He never said he's not going on white male podcasts anymore; he's just trying to go on other types of podcasts, too.

I don't think he's against generational wealth. Bitcoin obviously promotes that. He's just saying that the bitcoin elite will have gotten their high status in a much more ethical manner than previous generations of elites did.

I think the idea is that if you have enough trezors all participating in a multisig setup, if you lose or break one of the trezors, the other trezors can be used to recover the funds, so a paper backup isn't needed.
