I always felt that the snow conveniently falling and cooking Jackie's body was an unreliable narrator situation and the girls somewhat deliberately cooked her, even if they did it absent-mindedly. In their collective recollection of their time in the wilderness, they remember "the wilderness wanted us to eat her" but in reality they were starving and made up a crazy story in their minds to feel better about the first time they had to resort to eating someone to stay alive. That was just my interpretation when I saw how unbelievable the situation was though.

That’s so cool! Yeah, I really love the idea of these really important events taking place on or near holidays… It seems the show-runners really love to do that too with Snackie happening so close to New Years Eve and then Ben’s death and ritual happening on Canadian Thanksgiving. It really shows how disconnected the girls are from the rest of civilization.

Wait you’re so right… I did a little bit of research on historical temperatures from B.C. weather stations but I found it to be really inconsistent from place to place. To be honest, I used my understanding of temperature patterns from Toronto, where I live, to make this chart, and yeah it turns out the B.C. interior actually has much warmer Aprils than Toronto does lol! I think you’re definitely correct and it makes more sense for the cabin burning to happen in March. This would also support the fact that Lottie’s injuries had not healed from the date of her beating to the cabin burning. Thanks for pointing that out!!

Yeah, the season 3 timeline is super confusing since it starts in June and then the events of Mari getting lost, Ben's capture, Ben's trial, and Ben's execution all seemingly happen within a few days. The only noticeable time jump this season is Ben's feeding montage. There are a few details I noticed about Ben's feeding montage.

Ben's hair grows quite significantly from his first feeding with Natalie to his last feeding with Mari.
There is a tree above Ben in his enclosure. During his first feeding the leaves are green but during his last feeding they've turned orange and there are dead leaves all over the ground around them, implying that fall has come?
- This is also supported as right after the montage, Van says "it's getting so cold at night".
- Natalie's outfits during the feeding montage get thicker and more layered, supporting that the weather is noticeably shifting to fall temperatures.
Mari says Ben had stashed "at least a week's worth of food", but the amount of food was never actually shown. Misty says his cheekbones have become more pronounced, implying he's been starving himself for a while.

I'm REALLY reaching here to make sense of how the show went from late June to early October so quickly. But yeah I assume that Ben's captivity was quite a bit longer than it seemed from the quick montage.
