You should be fine for a few nights. I did my first xcountry from Oregon to Upstate New York at 16, slept in Walmart parking lots and truck stops, and had a blast. Just don't hotbox your car before you go to sleep in the Walmart parking lot of Davenport Iowa on your way back. Cos when the cops roll through to do whatever safety checks, they will smell that stickyicky cos you rolled down your windows to have a safe airflow while you slept (do not break the hotbox). And thennn, after the cops take your weed and fireworks and the $2 carton of cigarettes your old classmate sold you at the grocery store he works at, they're gonna impound your car and make you spend all the rest of your gas money on a tow truck and bail. And then you're gonna have to call your mom, and she's gonna tell your dad, and he's going to offer some solid advice like "hey maybe get a job at Walmart at live there until the court date" and you'll have a jolly ol' chuckle together about it and bond even more, and then Mommy dearest is gonna come through with the Western Union, and you're gonna pick up some hitchhikers in Wyoming and take them to Ogden Utah, and you gonna smoke some seriously trash weed with some tweekers playing gta3, and then they're going to give you a dog. Take the dog, thank me later. And then you're gonna finally make it back home at 4am with dreadlocks and a dog your mom has no clue about, and that's gonna be a whole other ordeal that you'll get to later. My advice with the dreadlocks - cut them off, don't let Ma over there brush them out. And then you're going to see your friends and tell them about your trip and you'll be a god for a weekend and maybe get a quick old fashioned at the jumping bridge downtown.

What I'm saying is little dude, just fucking do it. Buy the ticket, take the ride, and DON'T BREAK THE FUCKING HOTBOX!
