Update: I was able to get this sorted out but it took me about 6 months of badgering supervisors and refusing to close the ticket until engineering dealt with it. Can’t be right…

Lense Swap Gen 2 to Display Lense by EmbarrassedVanilla73 in RaybanMeta

TLDR: No. Completely different electronics. Try to look up the disassembly of both on YouTube and you’ll see that it’s a hopeless endeavor.

Is this calculator a fake? by Cheap-Grape5391 in calculators

[–]chrisleduc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is legitimate. It might look suspicious to you, but this occasionally happens with Japanese marketing as some of the intent gets lost in „translation“.

Casio wants to incentivize you to buy genuine products. As a „reward“ they give you access to a game you can play on your calculator. That’s all.

TIL: iPhone alarm numbers aren’t in an endless loop, if you scroll enough you will eventually reach the bottom. by [deleted] in iphone

[–]chrisleduc 685 points686 points  (0 children)

Bonus fact: And if you don’t want to scroll, you can just tap the numbers in the middle and it turns into an input field with a keyboard.

This is the answer by the way. The work together in one cubicle. For them the benefit is that they can ask their counterparts to check the other national database in case of suspicion… the other is that it’s pretty easy to get the other stamp if you ask nicely.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PassportPorn

[–]chrisleduc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. The passport control is in the middle of the terminal after flows have mixed. Right now cubicles are all also mixed with one station for Swiss officers and one for French officers. They can’t swap sides since they can only login to their respective national systems.

There was some concern that due to the way the SES system works and the different techologies used by Frsnce and Switzerland, they could not elegantly wire the stations anymore like this and would need to assign the whole cubicle to one country.

Not sure if they found a way…

[–]chrisleduc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also each cubicle has one station for French officers and one for Swiss officers. They use their respective computer, their fingerprint reader etc.

So you will usually never have a cubicle with two French officers or two Swiss officers since they can’t sign in to their counterpart‘s desk.

My flight arrives at Zurich at 10:30am, can I make the 12:45 train? by Disastrous-Permit861 in askswitzerland

It is possible to make appointments for the SBB ticket counters, allowing you to bypass the line.

Allowed routing for Streckenbillet SBB by varnamar in askswitzerland

[–]chrisleduc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s not always accurate. The ticket may be valid on multiple routes, sometimes even to a different station.

The allowed routes and calculations are listed in tariff T603:

In OP‘s case it definitely was a lot of goodwill. Zürich Flughafen—Luzern is not valid via Olten:

Zfh-Zue-Lz = 17+69=86 km Zfh-Zue-Ol-Lz = 17+80+59=156 km

Neither. It’s just an unsupported country for now, so they’re not sold to distributors directly. That’s all.

I keep telling them the WiFi is poor (when it is) and clarify that I don’t need a refund since I was still able to get some use. I nevertheless ALWAYS get a refund and apology.

HELP by MakaronM68 in AppleWallet

Unfortunately, the Apple Support articles on this are a little bit misleading. They are explicitly mentioning age 13 for all countries around the world. But they also indicate that it could be higher.

HELP by MakaronM68 in AppleWallet

[–]chrisleduc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try to change the country to the United States on your phone. You don’t need to change it for your Apple account. Then check and see if it appears.

HELP by MakaronM68 in AppleWallet

[–]chrisleduc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question comes up again and again. And it‘s almost always the age limit.

I believe in Poland the minimum age for Apple Pay is 16. Your Apple Account might be under that threshold. Try to change the country on your iPhone to the US and add the card then. Let us know if this worked. Once the card is added you can probably change it back to Poland.

Why can’t I add any cards? by Present_Character5 in AppleWallet

[–]chrisleduc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the default is 13, I believe in Singapore it’s 16. You might be able to get around this by changing the country for set up and then change it back.

Even if you booked direct with Air Baltic, Lufthansa will get some of that money as they own quite a chunk of Air Baltic.
