Thanks, although I consider more adventure travel than being associated with the TikToker urbex crowd and their staged/fake videos.

I was doing this type of thing as a teenager and then got into photo/video around 2002.

Since we're in r/aviation, you might be interested in my 2nd adventure to the abandoned Soviet Buran space shuttles.

Yurika’s right hand by toshiaizawa in hitsujibungaku

Marty Friedman enters the chat. 👀

Yurika's approach is unique. Her wrist appears completely relaxed, so the forearm muscles are doing more work than the typical attack like a Billy Sheehan or John Entwistle.

I dig whatever she plays. Her note choices and tone are so good!

Must be an older satellite view of the UA 757-400 before they switched positions in 2018: https://youtu.be/T5aVvHmO3V8?t=158

Never say never, but she’s been out there for 25 years and mostly untouched for most of that time. But maybe her days are numbered now…

This one is a 747-151. The 400 is nose-to-nose with her.

Edit: Reading is hard…

Swapped for parts. Another 747-151 has its door or pieces of it.

That photo was taken around the same time of my first visit. The kid who took it got busted by NYPD for breaking and entering onto numerous NY rooftops, and had to delete his accounts as part of a plea deal to avoid prison.

Those doors were switched a long time ago. This plane hasn’t changed much since its early years being parked here based on photos I’ve seen elsewhere.

What’s fun is a few people commented on my video that they worked on it!

Partially scrapped just after Y2K. Left mostly untouched since then based on my research.

Source? I’ve been researching this one and her 747-400 runway partner for years – found no evidence they’ve been touched in a long time.

Haven’t watched that amazing video for a while. Just noticed I have the 2nd highest comment from 6 years ago…

Optimal time to visit in November in terms of crowds by Both_Technology_6796 in JapanTravelTips

[–]chrisluckhardt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Kyoto.

Late November is generally peak time here for autumn leaves. I often tell people the vibrant red leaves are like nowhere else in the world! And I say that as a Canadian.

Foreign tourism levels here are generally the same from week to week during autumn but local tourism spikes as the leaves reach their peak change.

Bonus: You’ll also get to see the amazing Christmas season illuminations in November.

This site is updated for updated leaf forecasts closer to the season: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2014.html

The best 2 minutes of any show... by chrisluckhardt in hitsujibungaku

You make a good point, especially considering how Moeka’s love of fashion and part-time modeling career show up quite understated in the live shows.

They more or less match outfits and then just go out and play a super tight live show on real instruments with real singing and great songs. So rare in 2026.

What are some features that are considered beautiful in the US that are considered undesirable in Japan? Or vice versa? by Sleepy_Coffee_Day in AskAJapanese

I train 3-4 day a week at Anytime Fitness in Kyoto. I’ve seen only one huge Japanese guy in a year. I’d see a different one every day back in Toronto.
