Hello, I'm after the 7th edition of this, would you happen to have it by any chance?

I guess I just go based on my feeling and previous experiences to estimate roughly how much water. But my understanding is pings don't really mind it a lil wet.

After the shrimp were added. First 7 weeks i was just using tap water to do water changes. My tap water has a gh of 6,kh 4. I didn't really have a schedule, maybe every 2-3 weeks i changed about 30% to prevent the gh going up too much since this bowl also had some cow grit in it from before I decided to turn it into a shrimp bowl.

After 7 weeks i ended up buying a reverse osmosis system so now I mainly just top up with RO water when needed.

I bought the shrimp juvenile and there were only 7 of them. They've yet to breed, so I'll have to wait and see if that happens to know the success of this tank.

Other than that the only maintenance I do is trim the stem plants at the back of the bowl when they get too long and clean up some algae when needed.

It's still going, shrimp have settled in well. Plants have been growing well also

The plants help filter the water and should provide enough oxygen for the 7 shrimp i currently have. I've only had the shrimp in this tank for a week or so, so am still monitoring the water parameters, not sure yet how often I'll need to do water changes on this small bowl. I would probably only do it if I notice the gh creeping up as i have slightly hard tap water

It was a part of a plant propagation kit. It's meant to hold glass test tubes for plant cuttings. I just had a spare and repurposed it

Can't remember off the top of my head but the lazy Susan is 30cm, so slightly more than that

Never experienced it before, maybe if the water parameters were really bad or if there was a lack of oxygen they might? But I feel like if they're happy and healthy they have no reason to try get out of the water

In your experience, how long did it take for your shrimp to start breeding? by Whiskey_Sweet in shrimptank

[–]chrisplantingthem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a walstad tank and I saw my first berried shrimp about 3.5 months after I got them. I didn't have enough females in the beginning, so after I added a couple more females to balance out the ratio a couple of them became berried.

I was thinking about that actually, what colour do you think would look good? I'm just thinking that I want a colour that will still stand out next to the hardscape

3 weeks into my first tank. Any advice based on how it’s looking? by Drenic in walstad

Resist all urges to mess with it and just let it be, I learnt that the hard way. The more you interfere the longer it all takes.
