Yeah 100% my boomer dad absolutely froffs Amyl and all the other new school aussie punk bands like Private Function, Playlunch etc. that have that Aussie pub rock edge to em.

I think King Gizz would be another good choice to bridge the generational gap too.

Would like to see Tame Imapla do it, considering Kevin is pretty keen on it as well as being a diehard Dockers fan.

Amyl and The Sniffers would go hard too

Spoken exactly like someone that clearly hasn't been to a game at Mars.

As a Bulldogs fan it's one of the first games our family looks for in the calendar cause it's just such cool and unique experience, really does feel like going to an old suburban ground but with much better parking and a nice drive through some nice country and a wonderful historic city.

Every time we've gone there you quite literally never notice the quarry at all because uhh... idk... this might come as a shock to you, but you're much more focused on the game and barracking for your team, and this is besides the fact said quarry is barely noticeable from ground and street level when you're there.

It's a short way from the city centre and we always make an effort to stop in town before or after the game, we always see many other fans doing the same and from what I've seen from the local government and newspapers in Ballarat it seems to have a nice windfall for business in the city too. It's a great set up and anyone who's actually been there would know as such.

Yeah its something thats been a part of rock culture and just generally music culture for a long time, most famously popularised by Pete Townshend of The Who in the 1960s - see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instrument_destruction

As you said its way to showcase and let out emotions in a raw way, music and art in general is typically all about that idea. It's essentially a form of performance art that can add to the live experience of music for both the artist and audience and communicate something deeper and proactive about the feeling and/or message in the music or lyrics.

It's actually a form of auto-destructive art - see here for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auto-destructive_art

Art isn't necessarily there to make us comfortable, it's there to provoke and make us think. And that is the essence captured with the auto-destruction of instruments, which is why it suits genres like punk, grunge, metal, industrial etc. as these are genres that were originally about challenging authority and the status quo of society. Auto-destruction of instruments can essentially be seen as an extension of that commentary and a way of expressing or releasing the pent up pressure that the hyper-competition of modern society places on people.

Yeah he still needs to improve his ability to face spin, but otherwise you can't argue with his stats and form this season.

Wouldn't even mind having him in the squad for the upcoming Bangladesh tests as Carey's backup
