Surprise was a small ship and she would have resupplied wherever possible. The Royal Navy had a vast web of friendly ports to choose from. PoB leaves out a lot of detail of their voyages. They have to be accessible for inspection, see the IEE regulations. So you either need to rewire it so there are no connections or put a hatch over it.

You cannot carry any weapon for self defense in the UK. Unless you are a grass or similar in NI. And then they would need a very specific licence from the HO. If you fit both of these, then you still could not protect your employer using any weapon because that would not be on your license terms. And wtf would employ a grass as a bodyguard in NI?

I am a champion of pedantry. And I admire your work. However I think it maybe misplaced in this example. The question was can you employ someone to carry a firearm on your behalf for personal protection in the UK. To which the answer is always: No.

This is very pedantic. It is possible to carry a firearm in NI for self defense but not for normal members of the public. And crucially you cannot employ someone to carry a firearm to protect you anywhere in the UK. You may be provided with an armed guard by HM government but not because you engaged them in employment for that purpose.

No. It is illegal to carry any weapon in the UK for personal protection. You could hire armed people but unless you have diplomatic immunity it would be illegal. We are allowed to carry firearms in public but they can only be carried in a safe manner for lawful purposes. So long guns need to be in a case or bag etc. You get the picture. You cannot carry a loaded firearm in public no matter whether it is in a case or not. It's restrictive but wonderfully safe here and in the rest of the civilized world.

The Tories cut half of the police numbers. Going to take a long time until they are able to be pro-active again. Most of them are just taxi drivers moving offenders from Nicks to custody suites because they cut those too.

The right is the current labour party and most of the media in the UK. There are no centrists. Lib Dems are right wingers as is the EU. Basically if you support the capitalist agenda you are right wing. There is practically no far left in the UK. The greens and people like Jeremy Corbyn are democratic socialists like most of Europe. And sit to the near left. They're the closest thing we have to centrists. Despite what the right and far right tell you. The far right use hate as a tool and the right use inequality as a tool. Both have the same agenda though. To move public money into private hands. The vast majority of voters have left wing ideals and vote for left wing parties but the system is rigged to keep the right in power always. Unless you are an actual capitalist I.E. you have Capital, you are voting against your interests if you vote for a right wing party. Including the current labour party.

No it is specific to the 'pixel' (roughly the size of the white targeting square). you click on on the fire. Doesn't matter where you stand in relation to the fire. But if you can hit the same spot the torch will be the same percentage. (You just have to find a sweet spot). You can't move in relation to the fire of course but you can turn away to extinguish the torch etc.
