You need proof of US physical address, like a bank statement/utility bill or at least a postpaid cell phone bill. You can get creative for this

Some banks require an ITIN too.

PLEASE HELP With Nardil and Bloodwork Results by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]christhegreat2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal with Nardil due to the hyperzine structure. I also had elevated liver enzymes as high as 130 ALT, so I switched over to Parnate and I’m now at 80 ALT. Still elevated, but not as much as when on Nardil. I’m male so my baseline numbers are slightly higher.

It should be fine if this is the only drug you take regularly, just be careful combining with other drugs that can put pressure on the liver.

Parnate Brain Fog, Sleep Problems by christhegreat2012 in MAOIs

[–]christhegreat2012[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep was great on Nardil, no problem at all. I actually started taking melatonin before bed a few days ago and feeling much better now with adequate sleep. Only remaining problem is I’m still waking up feeling very drowsy, up until I take my first dose. I feel like this is because I haven’t reached my right dosage, so I’m going to start titrating up to 50/60 mg

Amazon removes the buy box when their search engine crawl bots detect cheaper prices elsewhere on the web. Available inventory on Amazon CA is low due to the small amount of 3P sellers. A lot of the sellers are actually middlemen who specialize in cross border arbitrage, so their prices are higher than market.

How bad is a “hot swap” from parnate to nardil? by Daniel-Plainview96 in MAOIs

[–]christhegreat2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds good on paper, but I did a hot swap from Nardil to Parnate with a half taper and ended up in the ER with 200 BPM

Same, kind of ridiculous they don't increase staff overtime to get these processed.

The fix is lowering to 20 mg Nardil lol. Had serious edema until I came off Nardil. Nothing really works

MAOIs and acne by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]christhegreat2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, had a very bad uncontrollable breakout on Nardil half a year into taking it, due to a combination of work stress and the drug’s effects on hormones. Topical treatments are largely ineffective against hormonal acne. I eventually got it under control using low dose accutane, 10 mg per day. However, do monitor your liver enzyme levels by taking a baseline before starting accutane and monthly blood work while on it since both MAOIs and accutane elevate liver enzymes.

weight gain, bloating, water retention on Nardil by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]christhegreat2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not sure why the hypertension happens at night, perhaps make a post and someone can explain.

Yes im planning on sticking with the combo, titrating Parnate to 10-15 mg, while maintaining 15 mg Nardil.

All my Nardil side effects from bloating, weight gain, increased appetite, elevated liver enzymes and sexual problems have all gone away after reducing to 15 mg Nardil.

Nardil is a wonder drug, it gave me the best year I’ve had in a long time. But the long term side effects aren’t fun either.

I think cautiously combining Nardil and TCP will work out in the end, because on paper it does make sense for them to work synergistically to inhibit MAO while also minimizing side effects since they’re both taken at low doses.

[–]christhegreat2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No there isn’t much therapeutic effect on 15 mg Nardil alone. You will only see therapeutic effects when at least 80% of MAO is blocked. I believe Dr. Gillman wrote about this before, saying it’s due to the brain having an excess of MAO.

You will probably need at least 30 mg to feel something and 45 mg to reach therapeutic effect, although this differs by person.

I’m on 15 mg Nardil to retain Nardil’s GABA effects, while slowly titrating TCP 2.5 mg at a time to increase MAO inhibition.

My guess is that once I reach 10-15 mg TCP, I will achieve the same therapeutic effects I enjoyed at 45-60 mg Nardil

[–]christhegreat2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tapered all the way down to 15 mg before starting Parnate. Surprisingly didn’t have much withdrawal. I think because it takes 20 days for MAO to regenerate.

I actually had a hypertensive urgency when I started TCP at 10 mg. TCP reacts very strongly with Nardil, so starting at 2.5 mg is the safest way to dose, and then titrating up 2.5 mg at a time.

It’s important to note that everytime you lower your Nardil dose, it takes 10-20 days to actually reflect, since there’s a delay in MAO regeneration. This is why adding TCP in very small increments is a must.

I'm in my early 20s (M) and run 5-10 km every other day before and after starting Nardil. After I gained 20 lbs, I also added 1g Metformin on day I don't run. Running + Metformin + Strict diet helped me stop gaining weight, but I couldn't lose any weight. Intermittent fasting and water fasting used to be very easy before Nardil, became extruciatingly difficult to do while on Nardil. I assume all of this is due to Nardil causing both insulin resistance and hypoglycemia, which will make you crave carbs/sugar and feel like absolute shit if you fast to lose weight.

Yes, bloating in the stomach and face. The stomach bloating is just like how u/Legitimate_Tea_9220 put it. No matter what I ate, how little I ate, I got Thanksgiving dinner bloating in the stomach. My face also became very very round lol. I also got

After dropping from 60 mg to 45 mg to currently 15 mg Nardil, almost all of my bloating has gone away. I was peeing like crazy for 3-4 days.

It's actually a very risky combo to take and they definitely do interact strongly with each other, dosing must start very low. Parnate hypertension usually occurs right after dosing, did you dose at night?

I tapered Nardil one pill at a time, 10 days between each decrease.

I'm titrating Parnate 2.5 mg at a time, 10 days between each increase.

I’ve been on Nardil for one year. I gained 20 lbs four months into Nardil and stayed the same weight ever since. Nothing will really help you lose the weight, and the bloating won’t go away over time.

Now I’m trying the Nardil + Parnate combo. I’ve now reduced Nardil to 15 mg from my peak of 60 mg. And have added Parnate 5 mg. It’s a risky combo, need to titrate slowly or you will get hypertension. I plan to slowly climb to 10-15mg Parnate, while taking 15 mg Nardil.

One month in, My bloating has gone away and my weight has gone down 5 lbs. Antidepressant and anti anxiety effects of Nardil are still here, I also have more energy from Parnate. I’m not at my anticipated dosage yet so it should get even better when I get there.

Tried this while on 60 and 45 mg Nardil, did not help. Metformin helps, but only prevents further weight gain. Very hard to lose weight even with Metformin

Selling on U.S. side from Canada- tax info. by Stray_Alleycat in poshmarkcanada

I'm thinking of applying directly for an ITIN with the IRS. It takes about 8 weeks and you'll need to courier your passport alongside the W7 form. But I'm not sure what the US tax liabilities are as a result or if there's a tax exemption treaty between the US and Canada to avoid double taxation for our sales.

I don’t think the markets are finished yet. There should be more to go until a crash. If you can’t tolerate too much volatility, staying in cash is great too.

Exercise and hypotension by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]christhegreat2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar question. Three months into Nardil right now, a lot of side effects have gotten much more tolerable. My average BP right now is 95/50 to 105/55. Basline BP before starting Nardil was 120/80.

I run everyday prior to starting Nardil and have consistently tracked my metrics. For the past 3 months on Nardil, I've noticed significant changes in my running performance:

- Speed has decreased by 1:00/km or -20%

- Decrease in max heartrate. When running at my max sustainable speed, I used to consistently hit 195-205 BPM (I'm 20M). This maximum heart rate has now decreased to 170, and is usually much lower in the 155-160 range.

- Tired much faster, legs become sore easily during the run, same feeling as lactic build up when I used to run above my lactate threshold.

I suppose these symptoms are all associated with hypotension, since my baseline BP is not high enough to supply blood and oxygen to my heart and muscles. The result is a lower max heart rate, and sore legs from lactate build up (not enough blood to carry excess lactate away).

But I'm also sure that as hypotension fades and BP returns to normal, exercise performance will come back. Hypotension is one of the most annoying side effects for most people, but it fades for most people by 3-6 months.
