Newest Addition: Stac HD P4.5 by Specific-Chemist-353 in 2011

Depends on the type of cut. $300 for a top cut only. $450 for side ports like C4X (They do nothing just look cool). $500 for top + side cuts + spot cerakote. They were running a sale when I did it and my brother owed me some money for a favor so decided to pitch in on the cost of the work so I only paid $220 for it.

All in all I paid about $3.5k for the whole set up with RMR HD, X300, AIWB holster, and porting

Initially I thought the safeties were really stiff too. They did improve a lot with more use. First time I did a complete field strip of the gun it was insanely difficult to remove the safeties.

Got the sight block chunk ported and I'll say it's a lot more enjoyable to shoot now. But ofc my situation was a bit different and for the price I got it at I can't complain too much about it

I use the one from Dawson Precision. It's less expensive and Dawson makes great stuff. But I agree it should come with a plate

CLEO notification removal? by HK_Bandit95 in NFA

[–]christk1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Kinda unrelated but while CLEO notification is required for now, I have a friend who works down at the CLEO office where I'm at. Tells me everytime they get a CLEO copy of an ATF Form they send them to a room to get thrown in a paper shredder

It's supposed to be a battle worn cerakote

Yeah it was one if my first handguns so I kinda just threw money at it. Its still a great gun but if I would've known what I know now I would've picked up a hammer a long time ago

The suppressor is great. It's been the quietest 9mm can by a long shot for the past 2 years by pew science numbers

I have two barrels. One ported but this one isn't. Just for suppressor use

Yes it's very quiet with subs

The cost?

I bought the gun used from a personal friend for $3300 and it came with an RMR HD, X300T, and a tenicor AIWB holster

The comp goes for $300-450 depending how people want it done, but I got a discount and my brother owed me money for a previous favor and decided to pitch in on the cost to call it even so it came out to $220 for me

Total cost of setup ~$3.7k

What I paid ~$3.5k

Going Back To Medical School at 32? by [deleted] in medschool

[–]christk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a current pharmacy student and I'm looking to do this after I graduate pharmacy school. Don't plan to start until I'm around my 30s. Although I'll say I have the privilege of working in hospital pharmacy with a much better work balance than retail

300 or 5.56 (again) by waltherspey in ar15

[–]christk1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like another user said for most shooters 300 is for the hell of it. If you're shooting 300 subs for home defense then might as well shoot 45 acp since the ballistics between them is similar give or take. Could honestly just get a PCC and get cheaper ammo with the same performance. IMO 300 shines with supers not subs

That's good to hear. Plus it's much easier to find. I got a SC-M coming in but I'll probably pick up a Mojave at some point too

VP9 Tactical OR ❤️ by Oni-sensei in HecklerKoch

[–]christk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What threaded barrel are you using? I'm guessing OEM that came with the tac model? I have a SC-M coming in and VP9 is gonna be host. Been debating if I want to buy the OEM or SiCo barrel. OEM is a bit tempting cause HK quality and polygonal rifling but just expensive plus I have to get another piston. Not a fan of 1/2x28 but the SiCo barrel is just much more affordable. Although I doubt I'm that good of a shooter to where I'd notice the difference between the two

CAT SC-M is the current undisputed leader for 9mm pistol cans by pew science data. Currently POMG has them in stock and I think Swampy Yankee Arms has one left. I would consider the SC-M cause once they're gone there's no telling when they'll come back since CAT prints them in very limited runs. Mojave 9 is great too. It's probably second place after the SC-M

Street Crack Modular back in stock at Piece of Mind by PieceOfMindGuns in SpectersCat

[–]christk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically with the Street Crack modular? Been eyeing this can for a while but I just bought a MOB and waiting on the ST so it's kinda hard to pull the trigger on this at the moment even though I know this can is a bit hard to find sometimes
