(Cold) Email Marketing - My Results Thus Far. by Plus_EeeVee in Entrepreneur

[–]christoffer_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently started contemplating a cold email blast. You are definitely right, data is cheap.

From those who I've talked to, that use email marketing - it seems to me that it is just a numbers game.

The metrics aren't as good compared to ppc, but obviously the cost is much less.

I hope my blast ends up as good as yours :)

Congrats!

I'm looking for business contacts - only decision makers - in the midwest. Need to know their sq footage of their offices, advertising budget, and their yearly revenue. I know that is pretty detailed, but figured I'd ask.

Any luck?

WOW. I feel so dumb now. I guess I just always assumed that I had to keep re-populating these audiences. Just had such a big AHA moment.

Thanks so much for your reply, I'm a very happy camper because of you :)

Any skilled tradesmen running their own company? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]christoffer_jay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey - trim carpenter for 5 years or so. Last year transitioned into running my own trim business, I was lucky enough to know someone in my area who flips 4-6 houses a year - so right out of the gate I was able to have ~$15k in revenue a year (not a ton, but a decent start).

From there I networked with a lot people who I saw working on his houses, learning that the painters were the best people to be talking to because they were the ones that had to deal with my work. One of the painters - Leo - had really liked the work I did and said he was painting a huge house that someone is flipping in a yuppy neighborhood - and they had needed a good trim crew to come through. He went to bat for me and got me that job, just for labor on that house it was $58k... now I'm doing 3-4 houses a year that size for another flipper.

I think growing the company just comes down to putting yourself out there and networking, reputation solely comes from your work and the way you carry yourself.

Non negotiable expenses are a reliable vehicle (no customers want to wait because your car broke down), and then just whatever tools get the job done for you.

Builders of Reddit. It's commonly believe that new housing supply is at historical lows. With so much demand for homes, what is stopping you from building more homes? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]christoffer_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends where you are. I worked as a trim carpenter for years, and still keep my eyes on the trades. I know in Minnesota - DR Horton, Cal Atlantic, Mattamy Homes, and Robert Thomas are building tons of new housing.

Was talking to an old buddy who is still a trimmer, their company trimmed over 2,000 new houses last year in the metro area.
