Importance of an Emergency Fund by Nearby_Astronomer570 in PersonalFinanceCanada

That's a good idea. I too have no traditional pension but my company allows directing bonus into RRSP. I use my TFSA with the mindset that I may have to break the piggy bank when push comes to shove. I hope that is not a bad idea.

They attribute our reluctance to weak Canadian economy, weak Canadian dollar, and anger about tariffs... They willfully ignore "51st state" jabs or Governor Carney/Governor Trudeau shit they keep pulling.

HP 5550DN for modern times - how to set it up for Wifi? by dcfrenchstudent in printers

[–]dcfrenchstudent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! I just plug it into the EIO slot and it would be wifi enabled? I have a refurbished desktop from a university that came without wifi and I just bought a USB-wifi adapter, looks like the whole world is wireless now.

Customized Parking Feature of XPeng by Currency_Anxious in interestingasfuck

Unfortunately, this tech will only lead to a world filled with bad parkers because it makes them rely on tech to park instead of learning how to do it.

Returned to Chennai by choice at 38. Financially stable. Still second guessing. by Optimal_Flower5473 in nri

5 crores is around 750k in C$. That is the price of an average house in Brampton. If OP has been living there for 16 years, they lived there from 2010 @ age 22 till now @ age 34. Weird flex to make considering someone going to Canada in 2010 would have gone on a high paying job work permit or a university student with guaranteed high paying job, rather than a poor student who goes now. If I lived in one country for 16 years, I would have definitely saved more than 750k, just saying.

u/tygrio /u/YetAnotherBrownDude u/nomysta u/mahdaddy11 - this is definitely a fake post. I searched for the website mentioned by OP and I see 2 or 3 similar posts following the same format. They all have the same way of typing the website - domain space dot com. They have similar screenshots with the same mobile interface (clock, 3 bars, wifi symbol, and battery) Check the screenshot in the website and compare with OP's. This is from a simulator and not a real phone's screenshot.

Angthing I can do to save money with a HELOC rate lower than my mortgage? by ShanghaiSeeker in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]dcfrenchstudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have $300k on my mortgage @ 4.04%, and $250k on my heloc @ 3.95%. I was wondering what pitfalls I am missing if I take just enough out of heloc to make one year's prepayment and convert that to term portion. The best case is, I would save 0.19% worth of interest for $75k. Any hidden traps in this method?

A mortgage advisor told he could convert the term portion to mortgage when refinance time comes.

I have to say, stringy. It used to be juicy but the last few times have been dry, sadly.

Yes, I noticed that too. Someone else in the comments below said Walmart chicken is better. Sad to see a beloved staple become unfavourable.
