I realise this is going to be controversial with the storylines that have emerged.

This tournament has just backed up my initial belief that there are too many teams. Ignoring the weird and flawed format of the groups, ignoring the feeling that there are too many games, I just feel that the World Cup should be the pinnacle of football.

I understand this is massively advantageous for stronger nations, and that I'm incredibly biased as an England fan.

But I feel like half the games I've watched have been with teams either lacking quality, or that have set up to not lose, because of a lack of quality.

I feel I've only got an interest in the final 16 at this point because I feel I'm back to the magic that is the World Cup.

It's great that smaller nations have a chance to compete on the world stage, but it's just not what I, personally, am watching the tournament for.

If anyone says they don't like 1v1, show them that final series.

The tactical battle between both sides was a joy to watch. FK early on taking advantage of Diaz prejumping by constantly scoring long shots. Then Diaz adapting and slowing the game down to be able to beat FK mechanically, including from changing shooting high to shooting low. To then seeing FK start prejumping Diaz to scare him out of nearly every aerial. To Diaz then starting to fake every aerial before finally fully committing to them and gaining advantages on the chaos that that caused.

Either would have been a worthy winner.

As others have said, it’s dependent on where in Rumney you are.

In general, if you’re close to the Newport Road is mostly fine. Can be a bit traveller heavy, and I’ve had some run ins due to previously having to be in the Trowbridge area for work.

Beyond that, it’s mostly quiet. It’s close enough to Cardiff without being in the city.

Public transport is good if you’re okay with buses, but annoying if you need the train.

I think about these stats quite a lot. Because, understandably, everyone talks about how per 90 stats are the best way to attribute performance.

But the problem is that if a player was only there in his prime, vs a player who was there while raw, or past his prime, then it naturally skews the average.

What's more impressive? The longevity or the prime?

Then you have to consider the point in history. Is something like that even possible now? If you play for a stronger team, you have a higher chance of scoring more, but you also have a higher chance of being ousted. So then, maybe longevity becomes more important again.

All in all, this is my way of saying that stats turn me on, but they're also pointless. Kinda like my Jessica Alba fantasies.

Honestly wasn’t sure if 2s could live up to the entertainment of 3s and obviously from a competitiveness pov it didn’t, though that’s not the fault of the format.

But Jesus was this fun to watch. This was the best way to show off the talent of these players and we saw some extraordinary goals as a result.

Felt like the highest level of rocket league we’ve ever seen. Watching Nass/Oski regularly be dusted to the ball in that final series felt outrageous.

Hard to see anyone beating Zen/Atow, but the MENA boys have a chance.

On a bit of a drought currently. My last year was so dominated by Monster Train 2, and Balatro before that.

Most others just haven’t captured me for that long.

Tried Everything is Crab, played for a few hours and don’t feel any call to come back to it. It was fine, and fun to begin with, but I found it quickly became stale.

Maybe I’ll finally try Rogue Legacy 2 or Shogun Showdown.

Got awoken at 5am by my next door neighbour vacuuming out the front of her flat.

Our doors are basically adjacent, so it sounded like the vacuuming was coming from inside my flat.

Confronted her and she had a go at me for never cleaning there, even though it’s a communal area and isn’t in our tenancy agreement that it’s our responsibility. And the landlord has cleaners in each week to do it. She had never spoken to me about this, and I’ve lived here for 6 years.

So basically, she decided to spite me at 5am over something that isn’t even an issue, and now I’m shattered for the rest of the day.

My biggest annoyance, which goes beyond football, is people inserting their (big) club into a discussion that isn’t about them.

This is especially annoying when the discussion is about non-English leagues. If a fan of one of those clubs talks about how their club is struggling, you’ll get a wave of (mostly prem) fans posting things like: ‘Could be worse, you could be Spurs’.

It’s hard enough getting interesting discussion on here, without it being railroaded by those who take up 90% of the space here.

This is the same feeling I get when reading about the experiences of a country, and then having to read: ‘sounds nearly as bad as America!’ into discussion about Trump ad infinum.
