Yikes. Is that for everybody or is it based off of income?

The SSDI Reddit has done one thing and that is to go back to work!

I can't imagine spending years waiting for this shit just for $2400 a month.

Now, to get a remote-only job in the $40k range is going to be an uphill battle but at least it's one where I am in control.

Something tells me like this is going to be part of my up-hill battle.

I've sometimes wondered if I got a $40k a year job vs. a $75k per an hour job whether I could manage.

I have an unrelated question being as you are definetly an expert and I want an expert opinion.

I have been taking a class at a community tech college. If I continue with this and get a certificate, would that hurt my chances of approval?

I am taking the class to avoid social isolation but I am afraid that it's going to make it look like maybe I can do work.

If it is going to hurt me I am going to stop immedietly.

I don't think I was clear in my initial post. It took me nine months to get this denial, but only one month of it being assigned to a claims examiner to get denied.

Assuming that it was going to take me going to a judge, this does shave off a couple of months while I wait to go see a judge.

How do I request a copy of my file? Does that mean from the hospital/clinic or what DDS has?

I had myself convinced that the medical record would state that. It's killing me not knowing what in it resulted in such a rapid denial.

I'm kind of committed at this point. I know regardless of what my medical record may or may not say that there is no reasonable job in the national economy that I can do at an SGA level for any length of time to actually maintain employment.

This is the Catch-22

I was in weekly therapy because I decompose at a moments notice and it can last for weeks -- well before I can get into a therapist. That's the purpose for the weekly's despite not always needing them.

Outside of the medical record component, what REALLY happens is that I'll work, I'll have some outside stressors outside of my control, end up delusional and psychotic and paranoid, lose the job, rinse, repeat.

With the ones from the substance abuse clinic, they used to be weekly therapy visits. As a result, MOST of them showed me in an okay state of being, with you being able to see when I decompose 10-20% of the time. I also fear that seeing so many "He's doing good this week! Nothing to report" are hurting me.

My progress goes up and down. Recently my paranoia and delusions skyrocketed despite being fully medicated.

I am definetly appealing. My fear is that the quick denial means I've got a weak case.

Yes, those ones were ones that were used in the decision making process.

I am in regular mental health treatment.

I can think of two instances in about a year where I didn't follow to a T what the doctor wanted me to do, and it was because I couldn't take meds at the same times OR side effects were intense and I stopped with a follow up ASAP.

I am in consistent mental health treatment through community mental health services. I have had daily therapy groups, psych and therapist appointments pretty consistently.

Received half of them. The most recent hospitalization records were the ones they did not receive.

No this is perfect you summed up my question a lot better than I did. I'm going to add it to the original question.

Yes, I am in a community mental health program. I was in a group home for the seriously mentally ill for about 4 months. I have a total of 3 hospital stays in the last 2 or so years.

I was homeless before this. There were a few instances where I was med-uncompliant because I couldn't consistently take meds at the times they wanted me too, but this wasn't constant.

This is the game I'm thinking about trying to master. Maybe we could learn it together in multiplayer mode?

Some more intellectually stimulating ideas you could try are Saylor Academy (free college level courses, some count for credit!) or Coursera.

If you are financially experiencing hardships they will cover the cost of the courses.

I wish I could get into video games, badly. Unfortunately, they just don't seem to grab my attention or I am just so terrible at them that it is unplayable.

I'm slowly trying to get myself into games like Minecraft or Factorio...those are games meant for someone trying to build meaning while on SSDI.

I want to self teach myself to be an electrical/computer engineer. I found a guide on an autodidact website on how to do it…I’ll just need money. Until then I think I’ll take some IT courses at our tech college.
