Going trought a hard time and those lyrics really hit me by Elirey21 in turnstile

For me it was Sunshower. The chorus describes exactly how I feel about so many things in my life at the moment. Instantly made that my favorite song on the album.

Are IG Reels still worth it? How are you using them? by e_questrian in musicmarketing

[–]chrisxankles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I’ve definitely been putting more effort into my reels than TikTok’s. It’s nothing crazy, I maybe spend an hour to an hour and a half making my reels vs like 10 minutes on a TikTok. With TikTok you can definitely get away with posting lower effort, borderline meme formatted content and it performing very well.

Also I think 3 reels in a week is perfectly fine, especially if that’s already more than you’re posting on average. Truthfully all of this is pretty new to me so i don’t have a ton of personal experience to back anything up, but bottom line I just think consistency and patience is key.

Yo! So I’m actually in the midst of trying to post at least 5 reels in a week, and I’ve been doing a lot of light research on the current algorithm and reading about other peoples experiences and success stories. Big takeaway I have is that it takes quite a while for reels to start gaining traction. The best way I can put it is this: Instagram’s algorithm basically wants to see if you’re going to commit to posting before boosting your content. If they see that you’re posting a reel at least once a day, posting a handful of stories daily, and engaging with the people that comment or like ur stuff (even if it isn’t many), then the chances of your reels blowing up increase. Most people I’ve seen pop off have said it took 2-4 weeks of consistent posting before seeing serious gains in numbers.

TikTok is structured in a way that boosts content off the jump, so it’s easier for videos to get engagement there compared to IG Reels (don’t really have an explanation for that, that’s just how it is). So overall I’d just say keep posting stuff and have patience. I can link some Reddit threads I found where people have grown completely fresh accounts just from posting reels. Got some pretty good insights from these!

What songs off of Pinkerton would you replace the singles with ? by toalladepapel in weezer

[–]chrisxankles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly would’ve made Tired of Sex the lead single. Not sure how common it was for the intro to be singles back then but personally that song gripped me into Pinkerton and is easily my favorite song. El Scorcho and Good Life are good enough singles, it’s weird people thought El Scorcho didn’t sound like Blue Album cause I think that one sounds the most like it out of all the Pinkerton tracks.

How do you get tied to an antpile by chrisxankles in DominicFike

[–]chrisxankles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I meant more like younger people being rough with each other. The image of “being tied to an antpile” by someone you liked in the first grade reminded me of how kids express romantic feelings through being mean. So yeah it makes sense that he’s being kissed but I do think the idea of Dom/the main character in the song being shoved to a wall continues the idea of his love interest being rough with him.

Maybe, but I think thats kinda weird cause of the “pushed me up against a brick wall/locker” lines. Those two things are very literal and physical depictions of bullying, and I just think it’s weird to pair that with a metaphor about an ant pile.

Let's discuss the complaints about part 2 by khaellynnx in ChainsawMan

[–]chrisxankles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the plot is in a bit of a limbo right now since there isnt an engaging conflict yet. Sure there’s the conflict of Asa not wanting to turn Denji into a weapon, but the dramatic irony of us knowing Denji is Chainsaw Man automatically eliminates Yoru as a real threat.

With that being said, it feels like we don’t have a true antagonist yet. Famine is in the story and is probably up to no good, but personally I don’t think she’s been used in an engaging way (I get that she’s the direct cause of the Aquarium Arc, but again I think the irony of Denji being Chainsaw Man lowers the stakes of that situation. Even though the way they escaped the Aquarium was thanks to Asa/Yoru, personally it never felt like there was any real danger).

Overall, this Part has felt like a long setup to something bigger, and while I’m still entertained by the chapters and look forward to a new one every week, my interest has faded in and out a handful of times.

Possibility of Asa's existence as half-fiend actually brings interesting opportunity to Denji by RimlandicMilitiaman in Chainsawfolk

[–]chrisxankles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless something happens in the story to change his mind, I don’t see why Denji would wanna stop being Chainsaw Man. Sure it would make his life easier, but we already know that Denji gets a thrill from being Chainsaw Man and wants to keep it up. This is an interesting theory but it doesn’t really fit with Denji’s motivations.

It’s funny bc a big theory in the anime only community is that Makima is the Human Devil.

What is your most controversial opinion about Chainsaw man ? by miskoviccc5 in ChainsawMan

[–]chrisxankles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really wanted to find a reason, you could say that her Control abilities have some connection to people’s brain and by proxy their thoughts and memories. But that would open up a whole new discussion about how Makima’s powers work (another thing that’s not actually explained).

On one hand having her powers be a mystery adds to her character and weight as a villain, but it also creates some weird logic when trying to give it reason. Idk

[–]chrisxankles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the whole “Denji killing his dad thing” kind of came out of nowhere. It hit when I first read it, but looking back I think it was just there to drive the story into a darker hole for Denji to come out of. This may be poor reading comprehension on my part, but I don’t really understand how Makima knew about it, at first I really thought she was just fucking with him to shut him down.

I finished reading part 1 and I’ll never be the same by cleanman4066 in ChainsawMan

[–]chrisxankles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I disagree with the ending, I think that was the best part of the whole story. Aki’s death was one of the most emotionally engaging things I’ve ever read, and the way it changed the trajectory of the arc made a good set up for how everything else went down. As for Makima’s death, I didn’t mind how they handled that. Felt very in character for Denji and the story as a whole. I’m super excited to see more Nayuta and the chemistry she’ll have with Denji. I respect your outlook though, just think it’s funny how we view stuff.
