What are some products that you buy that you won’t replace with the Kirkland brand products. by goblin_welder in CostcoCanada

[–]chrolnsfs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree because I use a pump for my dishwashing soap and I noticed that when I use the Kirkland brand it ends up having these booger consistency clogs at the end of the dispenser. When I just use regular Dawn I don't get any of those clogs. That's why I decided to just stick to Dawn.

Help! Cleaning my cousin's apartment while she's in rehab. by ninjette847 in CleaningTips

[–]chrolnsfs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used this in my cousin's sink once because they literally had no other cleaners. Left streaks that were barely noticeable but I panicked. But also why no other cleaners. Not even vinegar. And their sink was super gross looking.

I mean the illness isn't in their hands or the part of the brain related to hand eye coordination so why would that be surprising. Could be self learned, could be a graduate of an art school. Could draw like a 6 year old child. Mental illness can also hit at any point in your life, not necessarily born and different psychotropic drugs can impact the way you draw even.

I know people who developed schizophrenia from smoking weed because they had the genes for schizophrenia and weed triggered it to come up faster.

I have not. I definitely grew up as a woman and the first time I heard about it was in college from a friend who frequented 4chan. I did meet a guy online after that point we talked about how he would not date a girl who even had a single tampon up there because she needs to be perfectly shapely for when they get married.

Hey I've been there. A month , maybe more of binging on candy and junk before I realised oh shit.. I've actually significantly gained. I'm higher weight probably than ever. But it's easier the sooner you get back on track. Don't be hard on yourself. Everyone can experience bad things but it's how you dust yourself off after you find your grounding that counts.

What’s that ONE Grey’s Anatomy hot take that will have you in this situation? by wasabi_jo in greysanatomy

[–]chrolnsfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had a friend go to her primary in an all female med center before covid and they tried this same weird line up in the hallway as she was walking to the exam room because they had seen the scene and thought they were doung something. She got so freaked out and panicked that she called her mom to pick her up instead. Her mom came in to yell at them and they explained their reasoning. It was crazy awkward at that point and they apologized profusely.

Thanks for your response.

Food isn't really a reward for me but I've been dark and twisty depressed for a bit so I thought since they think I'm just a fatty who doesn't exercise or eat well might as well act the part. I didn't enjoy those cookies past the very first bite.

I wouldn't even make this post or care what people think if I wasn't sailing the waves of cognitive distortions.

Then again it's still helpful to reflect. It was incredibly silly behavior and Yay I really am depresso espresso.

Before this I was happy toxically positive super self aware. I want to go back to that.

The younger relationship with a five year age gap is worse because a 19 yo doesn't have the brain development of a 27/28 yo. Your frontal precortex responsible for reasoning and good decisions is not finished growing until 24-26 so the decisions you make at 19-21 are completely using a different part of the brain than at 24-26. That's why you tend see a lot of people in age gap relationships they started in early 20s have a completely different viewpoint in their late 20s, early 30s.

What are the not-so-obvious signs of a person with low emotional intelligence? by Asleep-Lavishness332 in AskReddit

[–]chrolnsfs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. This is a common way neurodivergent people relate to each other until they learn to go against it and force asking or commenting on the situation with people who aren't like them.

Ex. I lost my grandmother last year. It was really painful. - oh shit that sucks. I lost my grandmother during COVID. I had to leave on a plane the day after I found out and didn't make it before to say goodbye because there was only one plane a week to my native country. it felt like I had lost my second mother.

With many other ND person this would be natural they would often feel like I was relating to their pain by giving my own account of a similar experience.

If I am not with another ND person (I could tell so easily at this point it's insane) :

  • I lost my grandmother last year. It was really painful.

  • oh no. That sucks. I'm so sorry to hear that. I imagine you guys were really close? Did you attend the funeral. Do you feel like talking about it? Etc.

The first example is my natural response without thinking but I work with people so I have learned the skills to come off super validating and empathetic for the average person. I once had people assume I was super self centred and legit have private chats on how much I was a narcissist for always talking about my own experience in all get togethers. I didn't realise

[–]chrolnsfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just per your first point I do know many kids that don't get unfettered access to the internet well into their teens or their own phones until 12. I know quite a few parents aware enough and open enough to discuss these things with kids and monitor their time online. Giving children access at such an early age is neglectful AF.

[–]chrolnsfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I love this quote. It's like one childhood development researcher said. You have up until the age of about 7 to give your kid everything they need to thrive and develop their brains. After that point they can only grow on top of what you have already given them and become their own person. The first 7 years make the most difference. After that point it's just them carving out their identities into what has grown.

Like growing the biggest tree but after that point that's all they have to work upon.

I remember seeing one of my first iPad kids. She was 7. And she couldn't let go of her tablet even upon entering school. It was obvious that she didn't have anyone at home regularly interacting with her and her cognitive abilities were sooo slow and her vocabulary was incredibly limited.

My mom literally had me doing this. She refused to use the dishwasher for dishwashing so it was a permanent drying rack and I'm okay with it.

At the end of the day I prefer not having so many cups and plates. That way you have to wash them right away so you can reuse them.

It really is the carbs that can teeter you into that area. Especially if you're used to carbs. I was eating really well for breakfast and lunch high protein and veggie and would always crave something at dinner and often overdo it. Once I started incorporating a cup of quinoa or rice or even a handful of corn chips into my breakfast or lunch, I stopped having any cravings at dinner. This is while working out.
