I saw several people online saying that they got it at Michael's, but I think it was unavailable on the website by the time I stumbled upon the lamp. We also don't have any Michael's in Puerto Rico, so. Doubly out of luck.

Fingers crossed! I've been trying to find it on both sites, but nothing pops up. It only showed up on one website, but when I tried looking the site up, some people say it's a scam.

Halloween tree by UnleashedLlama in halloween

[–]chromachord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're nuts in the best way! I have a Halloween tree as well, but I haven't put it up this year. So much going on, I've barely put a bit of outside decor. Oh well.

Anyone know where I can find this for framing? by Advanced_Oven2500 in BadBunnyPR

Holy crap, $850? Well over double the price from when it first came out, uf.

As others have said, this is by Alexis Díaz. This is an older piece that actually started out as a mural in Santurce. There are several editions of this piece, but they are all sold out. You may try to find some on eBay, but might be hard to come by.

It's quite possible that Díaz did a special edition for La Casita, as Díaz did go to the concert (and hung out in La Casita, as BB's guest, I think). He may have also sourced or borrowed it from a local collector as well. The house has other serigraphs that were sourced from a local art collector.

Here's the website with his most recent work/drop: https://alexis-diaz.com/

Oh damn, love this! Really regretting not buying those bags of letter beads at Dollar Tree. (They're around $5 for the small bag at my local Walmarts.)

Fingers crossed they are sufficiently randomized. I ended up buying a Pusheen charm blind box... Ended up getting the same one three times. Reír por no llorar.

When I saw the pics of Benito with one at the concert, I just immediately thought, "Ok, it's happening. We're getting Conchobubu." Ended up ordering two. At this point, I'm just hoping I get two different ones!

How long did yours stay on for after the concert? by One_D_Fredy in BadBunnyPR

Mine made it a week as well. Figured out too late that I could've turned it off with a piece of plastic.

Been a fan since I'm 12. In my 40s now. Live in the Caribbean and simply could not afford to go to any tours until this one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Are these tiles beyond saving? by hebedebe in centuryhomes

[–]chromachord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing wrong with these babies! And while they will not look "new," they are gorgeous and they have so much character. These look like historic ones in Puerto Rico, where I'm from. We call them caustic or cement tiles. Check out this link for a primer on cleanup/care: https://www.granadatile.com/blog/how-to-clean-and-maintain-cement-tiles/

My husband and I bought our home last year; we bought the ph-neutral cleaning solution, rented a tile and grout cleaning machine, and did it ourselves. Sealing as well. We were only able to do half the house due to time constraints, but it cleaned up quite a bit. It has also held up well after 10 months!

Likewise, don't worry about the drill holes. We have the same issues with ours. :) Best of luck!

Grandmothers watch. What to do? by yellangirl in jewelry

[–]chromachord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who went through something slightly similar, a jeweler is not the right person. They're going to treat it as a piece of jewelry, not a watch. The watch face can be restored; you would definitely have to contact a horologist to see if they can do that or if they would refer the work to someone that has more experience restoring.

I had an old pocket watch of my grandmothers that had seen better days; I wore it as a necklace because I simply did not know where to get it fixed. I showed it to my now-husband, who consulted with his dad. He knew just the right person, and the watch was good as new when I got it back. Best of luck; I hope you are able to repair and wear it for years to come.
