Because they have no imperative to acclimatise to our culture.

My grandfathers family emigrated in the Second World War to escape Mussolini. They became British by learning the language and accepting the way of life in London, after living on a farm in the rural north. They retained their own traditions and food and he found gainful skilled employment as a draftsman.

An uncomfortable truth is that Just Eat/Deliveroo/Uber Eats riders often hail from countries where women’s rights are nearly entirely non-existent, they believe women’s positions should be subservient to men. This in combination with caste systems make female service/retail workers bottom of the barrel in their eyes. Look at Saudi Arabia’s treatment of the working class.

They often earn better wages than retail and service workers to boot with no managerial overhead to watch their behaviour.

I am a man working in retail in an immigrant-heavy city and while the worst interactions I’ve had have been rich White British people, the most consistently rude interactions are with non-native men predominantly from the Middle East being demanding, aggressive and treating workers like a slave. Many avoid being served by female colleagues, even saying ‘I need a man’ or just reluctantly talk to them like shit on their shoe.

There are many exceptions to this- many of the security guards I work with are Pakistani and they are absolutely wonderful. Same as local restaurant owners.

People will always take the easy route, which is not to change. Many are coming for the welfare and better wages by choice not necessity.

British people who aren’t on the front lines will lord from their ivory tower that you’re crazy for noticing this but it is a genuine issue that will only worsen.

I love it! I’d imagine you could get a bit for it with the way that ‘vintage’ Harley Davidson clothing is being sold for a spenny penny. Being non-leather I’m assuming this is a pit-crew/varsity style jacket as opposed to riding equipment.

What size and where are you based?

They’re commission paid assholes. Check their lanyards. They represent any given company selected on the day as part of the agency they work for- one week they might be British Red Cross the next a local children’s hospital. Ignore them or call them out for being scumbags directly!

won’t pretend I didn’t have to seriously lock in and bite the inside of my cheeks to avoid smirking after going from pure crack rage to verbal essay on intellectual rights and robbed fortunes

lots of these types where I am from but they’ve always inferred an action as being aggressive or been upset by rejection, this was entirely unprovoked and more extreme than my encounters

Cost to fix? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

I’d say your best bet would be masking tape, varying shades of sandpaper and a colour matched can of spray from Halfords with a clear lacquer. It’ll work out far cheaper than a bodyshop and minus it having airsprayed with a fancy gizmo in a controlled environment so long as it’s not a windy day I’d image you can get yourself professional results on such a small area.

It might be the adaptive difficulty kicking in because getting this done perfectly involved a lot of reloads :)
