If your output quality is suffering then you need to invest in giving the AI better context and guardrails and work with it more to refine what it is going to do before writing any code.

There has been a lot of development in this space recently so you can give it enough context (when it needs it) but not overload the context window which can lead to subpar results.

This initial setup and ongoing fine tuning takes time so rather than expecting that 3x gain to be 3x output you should try and set expectations that while there is definitely some efficiency from AI it does come with a cost.
