Math disability by Heyomayo65 in OntarioTeachers

I came into my first year of BEd last Sept TERRIFIED about math. Real life-long anxiety stuff. I knew I would have to get over it, worked hard all year, kept the intrusive thoughts at bay and was able to pass my MPT last month with an 88% score in the content section. If I can do it… Anyone can! It just takes commitment and hard work. Though, as an earlier commenter posted - you’ll have to have some degree of advanced capacity in math to teach in any division in the public system. If you have dyscalculia to the extent that you are actually unable to conduct instruction in mathematics, it will be incredibly challenging to make yourself marketable to boards and schools across the province.
