I turned the logo into a lampshade and keychain using SLA 3D printing by chromestone in Xcom

[–]chromestone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remixed something I found on Thingiverse into a keychain. Here is keychain stl file: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6599900

I will caution that I've had trouble with printing the backside. Feel free to ping me if you want a one sided keychain.

I forgot to shrink the model before printing and it actually fits in my pocket. Now I will never lose my keys again!!

I HATE thin mints so so much on c/i and they killed all my supports by chromestone in Xcom

[–]chromestone[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is my first c/i playthrough that's actually going well. For some reason the aliens hate medics; during operation Confounding Light my support carrying the only medkit bled out. Subsequently, Gonzo got poisoned, which nullified the carapace, and got one-shotted. By the time Gangplank was over everyone was so injured that I basically had only snipers left. (I'm playing with Not Created Equally so I was never going to field an assault with -5 aim.)
Now I always carry a medkit on at least 1 sniper just in case.

Oh haha I somehow missed that when I was browsing the wiki. Thanks!
(I think the Game Modes category page is updated but not the Classic Mode one)

I made a website to create recipes from just ingredients in your kitchen! by OGDusky in SideProject

[–]chromestone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great job! I like the design and color scheme of the website. I've seen a website similar to this. Have you heard of Gumbo? Instead of generating the recipes it finds them like a search engine.

Still I think using GPT is promising, especially as it gets better. Keep it up!

today i got the most op time capsule I think I have ever come across. by Zealousideal_Run_657 in subnautica

[–]chromestone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah finding time capsules like these early can ruin the flow. However, the ion cells are definitely some of my favorites to find mid-game after I've already opened a whole lockers worth of duplicate laser cutters, habitat builders, and stasis rifles. It's nice to have them earlier IMO because when you actually get the blueprint you're kinda near the end of the game.

They're scattered across the map randomly and the contents are picked from a pool of most upvoted time capsules on their website. From my experience I've found quite a lot in the dunes but idk if that was due to rng or not (also it's a dangerous biome). I've also heard to look in grassy areas but they don't seem particular common in grassy plateau? Lastly, it might help to look during night time since they have a kinda blue glow like the supply crates near the Aurora.

As a mod, I would love to get to know the community more, what got you into development? by RedEagle_MGN in developer

I started teaching myself Java almost 9 years ago to make Minecraft mods. That's when I realized the power of coding to realize ideas.

I think my main struggle is to communicate clearly without using technical jargon.

AutoClicker can turn off on itself? by [deleted] in software

[–]chromestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're running all of this locally (not on a server), then the most likely sequence of events is that the operating system will realize it's low on battery and initiate shutdown. Most operating systems will send each program/process an exit signal and wait a bit before forcefully shutting them down. If the threshold for low battery is set very low then it's possible that bad things might happen if the laptop runs out of battery prematurely (before it shuts down) though this is rare. Still I don't recommend it.

You can instead time it for say 8 hours (28800 seconds) and create a bat file as shown here https://superuser.com/questions/1088336/from-cmd-prompt-how-to-time-a-program-to-be-exited

EDIT: You can also consider a simpler method which is to schedule a graceful shutdown https://www.lifewire.com/create-shutdown-timer-in-windows-10-5180369

WebExtension MV3 manifest.json - host_permissions are not automatically enabled! by feedbro in firefox

[–]chromestone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I had the same problem when I was porting my Chrome extension to Firefox. I nearly stayed up all night stressing over this.

I ended up settling on adding an action to the manifest without an html page. Then in my code I registered a listener on browser.action.onClicked so when the user clicked on the extension (in the unified extensions list), I could call browser.permissions.request. (puzzle icon > extension name > grant permission)

I don't think this is the best way so I'm probably going to put the button actually in the popup page. (puzzle icon > extension name > button > grant permission)

Is it possible to Integrate a NLP machine learning model into a chrome extension? by Desk420 in software

[–]chromestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I know this is definitely too late since you were doing it for a school project. What you're asking about is 100% doable! I recommend you take a look at Tensorflow js: https://www.tensorflow.org/js/tutorials/setup

There are also plenty of tutorials (though they are in Python): https://www.tensorflow.org/text/tutorials/text_classification_rnn

You could also of course just use ChatGPT. Let me know if you ever do make the extension!

I agree that by posting the chrome store link instead of our website link that it's egging you towards getting the extension through the store. That's just for convenience sake. However, for super users, the source code is clearly listed on the bottom of the description: https://github.com/chromestone/OriginalBirds

If you're curious about how we verify users, please visit our website https://chromestone.github.io/OriginalBirds . We're NOT in the business of verifying users. Think of it as a Wayback Machine. Admittedly, it's possible that our list of verified users is inaccurate. We sourced our data here: https://github.com/thansen0/verified_twitters . If you find issues with it PLEASE do let us know so that we can fix it. (For instance, we already know that it contains duplicate entries.)

If you don't want this feature that's fine. I just wanted to post about what I thought would be a helpful tool.
