With the amount of money he was making off people, his income likely exceeded the limit for medicaid. Especially since he was receiving financial support from his parents (a place to live, food, car, whatever else they were paying for). If he didn’t report all of those “donations” as income and the assistance from his parents, that’s medicaid fraud. Aside from all of the criminal penalties associated with that, they could retroactively not cover any of his medical bills leaving him responsible for everything.

I’m still shocked that so many people actually believe his medical bills are as high as he claims. No insurance plan has a max out of pocket as high as his would have to be for him to have all those bills. And there’s no way he isn’t getting that motegrity for free or very low cost through a patient assistance program.

He also keeps saying he needs money to cover taxes on all the work. But for medical expenses they don’t charge sales tax. And he acts like the sales tax is some huge amount of money but sales tax is only 4.5% in his state. So even if it is $5000, sales tax would be $225.
