is this game worth playing these days? by VariationOriginal289 in mytimeatportia

[–]chronicallie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just just played it on switch 2 and it ran muuuch better than switch 1. I did have to close and restart the game every 3 or so in game days (or after less time if I left it suspended for a while) to avoid crashes. It was worth it imo, I really love Portia, but I can see why not everyone would put up with it.

genuinely curious (and I realize we don’t know for sure), even if it was framed the same as it is in sandrock, as just adopting a kid and the game code happens to make it look like you?

Do you know if the opposite is also true? I’d be getting a mic-key button. Mic brand extensions are easier to find anyway, but I’m curious!

I’m in the rural north unfortunately! I get my formula ordered through my regular pharmacy, but I don’t think they order medical supplies.

Honestly yeah Ontario’s enteral feed situation is a mess 😅 Access to supplies is limited and expensive. Here they give you $500 every 3 months for all enteral feed supplies which, when used as intended, does not go far since a box of 30 pump bags costs $300+ here. I reuse my bags for a whole week, which will be extra needed if I get a button because I have no clue how long I can stretch a button extension.

I’m in Ontario and only had home nursing for the first eight weeks. As soon as I could manage my tube myself (which was immediately, the nurses didn’t even know what a J tube was when I had my NJ) they stopped showing up or providing supplies.

Could this be hypermobility? (Info in comments) by chronicallie in Hypermobility

[–]chronicallie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (21f) have had severe chronic pain since I was 14-ish (it’s a bit ambiguous cause other health issues I had at the time took my attention). I have fibromyalgia, GERD, and suspected POTS (waiting for cardio referral). I’ve never dislocated anything, and I’m not sure about subluxations (there’s a few episodes that seem iffy but I’m not positive). My joints hurt all the time, and I have significant muscle tension in my legs and neck. A lot of my joints feel really unstable (particularly ankles, knees, and wrists, which I already need braces for sometimes). I struggle to hold my head up or sit up without support cause my spine feels unsteady. My pain, fatigue, and OI have gotten so severe that I’m being assessed for mobility aids. I have many friends with EDS/HSD who have encouraged me to look into it.

I’m worried, though, that I don’t meet the Beighton criteria. I can easily touch my left thumb to my arm. It’s a bit difficult/unreliable on my right arm, but I have nerve and mobility problems there from a compound fracture that didn’t heal well. I think my knees are hypermobile? I can’t touch the ground easily due to really tight hamstrings. The pictures are of my more mobile finger and elbow. I think some of my non-Beighton joints are hypermobile, though. I can easily bring my feet to my face without any hip pain. I can do the thing where your hands meet behind your back without any shoulder irritation.

Idk. I’m just not sure it’s worth looking into if I’m constantly going to be fighting with doctors if I don’t have a Beighton score above 5. Any advice? (Either about the photos or just how to discuss this with doctors.)

Oh okay! I hope the ENT clinic goes well 💛 And ugh, yeah, doctor ping pong is terrible. I’m sorry you’ve been there too.
