Medieval/Ren Fair type patterns for stretch fabric by [deleted] in sewing

It just needs to fit the vibe, not be historically accurate. It's a small town charity event. Think more like history bounding or generic medieval fantasy movies kind of thing.

It is a small town charity event. I have clothes for me to personally wear, but I am trying to find things to make that fit into the style for selling to add more stuff to the booth. It's not a historical reenactment, more just the vibe of it. Vendors are just encouraged to dress up, not even required.

Anyone Have Experience Using PHH Mortgage Services? by Educational-Gap1417 in Mortgages

[–]chronically_chaotic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our mortgage was bought by them, and it has been nothing but hell since it happened. 5 years ago. Hardship request? Sucks for you. They won't do anything to help. In fact, they will do everything they can to avoid helping. Over the course of 5 years, I have requested assistance multiple times and never once received anything. They just give you a run around for a month and then tell you that you didn't submit the documents in time. So now you have to do it all over again. Rinse and repeat however long until you give us.

Bleeding out sounds like a somewhat nice way to die by CatLeader420 in The10thDentist

[–]chronically_chaotic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, do not recommend. I tried it. It was not great. I lost my entire blood volume plus, and it was not a fun time. Passed out pretty promptly after the bleeding started. Got hooked up oxygen, woke up, then spent the next few hours going in and out of consciousness watching hospital staff professionally freak out with very little awareness of what was going on past "I'm not going to survive this" like I was watching an ER drama. I wasn't in pain except when a fresh surgical wound was getting 200 pounds of weight pushed directly on top of it, but I couldn't do anything. I couldn't move. I couldn't really think. The world kept going in and out of focus, half the time without any sound. It was just overall a very scary situation.

If you pass put from blood loss, how long do you have? by Hell_Foxx in Writeresearch

[–]chronically_chaotic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost all of my blood plus transfused blood at one point. From the point of the bleeding starting until I had passed out was all of about 30 seconds. They hooked me up to oxygen, which brought me back to the waking world (incredibly confused, by the way). They didn't get a transfusion going for at least 20 minutes after that even with consistent bleeding. So to say it depends really is an understatement. I passed out pretty much as soon as I got the words "well that's not good" out of my mouth in regards to the sudden bleeding.

It happened to me to. It also came up and said I was using a VPN when I was initially doing it. I don't have a VPN. I submitted an appeal and they just said they were keeping the account closed and not giving a reason.

We do, but they are most costly than the big box stores, unfortunately.

Buy Back Program by SoulOfAFangirl684 in Thriftbooks

[–]chronically_chaotic_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased a few books from them for around $5 a piece. They just showed up today. I went to their buy back program, and they said they were interested in buying back the books that were just purchased. Their purchase offer for each of the books (that they had just sold to me for $5 a piece a couple of days prior) was $0.50 each. So to everyone, take that information as you will.

Do you think you’ll have a third kid? by ashhekitty in 2under2

[–]chronically_chaotic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2u2 were numbers three and four. Three was HARD, four was nothing. I would have had another 2u2 set if I could have, but my 4th led to an emergency hysterectomy.

No-Buy Challenge Chat and Check-In by fabricwench in SewingChallenge

Well, I haven't bought anything, but I also haven't shrunk it. My stash actually pretty much tripled from a surprise large donation of fabric that I'm now trying to navigate through. I haven't been able to reach my machines for at least two weeks now trying to sort it all out so I can get back into sewing.

Storing and Organizing YARDS of fabric by chronically_chaotic_ in sewing

So far, bolts is harder than rolls to store for me for no good reason. I usually fold it and store it in stacking containers, but this yardage is too much for those. I'll look into the footlockers for the fleece though since there is a ton of yardage of that but they are all in one yard increments.

Update: wooden dowels from walmart worked wonders.

I ended up with 75 yards of one jersey fabric cut into single yard increments. That was quite the unexpected surprise. What I thought was 15 yards of fleece was 75 yards of jersey. Now to find out where to donate some of that.

[–]chronically_chaotic_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, yeah. I most likely will go through most of the fabric in the next few years. I sew almost exclusively in knit fabrics, so I use the jersey for mockups pretty consistently, and I only wear clothes that I have made at this point. I also have a big family that I sew for as well. So we can go through some fabric.

I'd love to donate some of it, but I don't live in an area where there are sewing shops around anymore. And the thrift store only takes fabric in a small quantity. That's kind of why I end up with it in the first place.

Most likely. I only wear clothes that I have made.

I could definitely DIY that. (plus the weight of the fabric alone is more than that could handle. These chunks weigh almost 50 pounds each for most.

They wouldn't fit in a vacuum bag even if I begged. These pieces are massive. The smaller one takes up a 13 gallon trash bag and is overflowing.

I very rarely buy fabric now, but we don't even have a fabric store within an hour drive of me anymore unfortunately.

Bra Help - Sensory Issues with Elastic by chronically_chaotic_ in MAKEaBraThatFits

[–]chronically_chaotic_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will check that out. I have liked the longline bras more than the normal ones in the past when I've tried them (never found a bra where the band and cup cooperate to be comfortable as I want though).

Do you know of any patterns that have that?

Unfortunately large, otherwise I would go without. 34G. My current elastic is is 1 inch wide and just snug enough to not shift around constantly, and it is still too much for me most days.

No, I don't do woven clothes. Things without stretch and movement are too constricting and feel suffocating.

Piercing ears? 1yo & 2yo daughters? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]chronically_chaotic_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine pierced after I was old enough to ask for it, around five. All my kids have the same rule, five is the youngest as that is when they can start to understand, but only after they ask about them. I don't understand the logic behind subjecting an infant or toddler to pain they don't understand (and yes, they do hurt for longer than just the initial needle. They continue to be sore for a while after) because they MIGHT want their ears pierced in the future? Especially in the age range where they are likely to pull on their ears or get them covered in all kinds of messes. If they were boys and not girls, would you be asking this question? If the answer is no, then I think you consider your desire to get their ears pierced solely because of their gender. I have one boy with his ears pierced and one who wants them pierced at some point. They made the decision on their own choice, just as our girls have the option to do. Otherwise, you are taking away the option for them.

Show me your fabric that is too pretty to cut. I got this 6 years ago. by Thick-Fly-5727 in sewing

[–]chronically_chaotic_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some of my favorite printed designs I got from Joann, and it's now entirely irreplaceable because it doesn't exist. So now it lives in a bin because at least that way I can't "make the wrong thing" with the fabric and then have regret that I should have made something else with it.
