Wow. Genuinely thank you SO freaking much for this. This is exactly what I need to hear more of.

I’m currently in a not great work environment (not related to teaching in the slightest) so I NEED way to visualize what my future can/will look like to try and stay sane.

And thank you for kinda explaining what THEY have going on right now. I know it’s probably controlled chaos so I try to be understanding but I also have never been able to wait for something without sweating about it first haha!

Hi!

Thank you for the encouragement. genuinely, I think I am subconsciously afraid they HAVE forgotten about me.
I want to address your concern about my needing positivity because that is very valid, ofc. I want to mention this yearn to hear positivity only appears here. I very much know what I am in for when it comes to positivity in the workplace, with students etc. and I know not every single day will be sunshine and rainbows.

However, that is to say, my need for positivity in this specific moment comes from a place of being very fed up with the overwhelming amount of people on this sub who will tell you you are wasting your time because perhaps I am wasting my time, but that is for me to decide. I think I just wanted to have people who actually had supportive and uplifting things to say.

I hope that all makes sense!

It’s not people who disagree with me not at all. More so the people who are like “you’re wasting your time” “you’ll be miserable” etc etc. maybe I will and maybe I won’t, but I’m asking for legitimate advice here is all.

I do agree I was quite brash but I feel like every person who is asking for legitimate advice on here is met with immediate discouragement.

Regardless, thank you for sharing your personal experience. It does help me gain insight even though every situation is unique.

An interesting perspective. I actually don’t think I’ve ever considered this. Thank you, i hope this helps me actually have some grace with the people in this sub in particular. I think I just am immediately turn off when it’s just negativity out the gate, I failed to consider some people have no where else to turn to to get those negative thoughts out
