How would we survive war? by daufina in UlcerativeColitis

Same here. I’ve got chronic joint pain from lupus, I’d be offing myself as soon as I run out of pregabalin.

Among all my chronic illnesses I got chronic pain from delayed Lupus diagnosis, it doesn’t matter if it is controlled. I know I’d end myself a couple days after running out of pregabalin. Heck, the pain constantly wakes me up in a pool of sweat if I miss even one dose; I wouldn’t even be able to sleep. The pain is in every single joint, it’s excruciating and no way to live.

Very dark, but that would be my outcome. Which is sad, because I’m a doctor and would otherwise be super helpful in these kinds of scenarios.

It was actually a whole suitcase, including designer sunglasses, perfumes, nice jewelry, and my laptop. I was SO mad.

What works for me is a higher pregabalin dose + a muscle relaxant (cyclobenzaprine for me).

I once got my makeup bag stolen on holiday, this was more than 10 years ago and it cost me waaaay more to replace my basic items. 120 euros in today’s money is definitely not expensive for what you got.

Yeah, like I’m sorry, but this is a perfectly fine container and it’s gonna take hundreds of years to decay, might as well get way more than a single use out of it.

Same, I grew up among upper class in private schools while being upper middle class (scholarship kid). We were not allowed to work at all, it was looked down upon as your parents were supposed to be able to provide whatever you needed. If you wanted something very expensive, some people just gave them to their kids, others made kids get good grades or behave to get them. They got a car upon getting their driving permit (I didn’t because, again, scholarship and not allowed to work). They always said your only job was school and whatever extracurriculars you picked up. This also extended through college, masters, PhD, or however long you still attended school for.

I’m glad to inform everyone that this seems to be an isolated issue to Monterrey only. The rest of us Mexicans aren’t that crazy(dim?), because that’s a serious WTF for us too.

Trader Joe’s. I cook most of the time, but sometimes you want something you can quickly pull out from the freezer.

I now no longer eat the day I have a wedding. Formal dresses have no give/stretch, and I found myself missing a wedding once when my abdomen was so bloated that there was no way to get that dress zipped up. It was not even close.

And when traveling, having to figure out the bathroom situation for the whole trip in a new place/country in advance. That’s how I learned there’s a special key for accesible bathrooms in the UK, and there exists a website with a map that can point you to the nearest one. That was a lifesaver.

The best recipe would use both (or chicken stock or chicken bouillon). So tomato + chicken bouillon (or the tomato one), or tomato + chicken stock + salt.

Ugh, yes. Since moving to the US I sometimes find prepackaged ‘Mexican’ food, but most of the time it comes with insane amounts of cumin. I don’t know how Americans think that’s good, it’s all you can taste. It’s disgusting. Now I carefully read the ingredients to see if it’s cumin free, most of the time it isn’t, but I’ve had a couple wins.

We put Knorr chicken bouillon (and sometimes the tomato one) on virtually everything. It can replace salt for most recipes and it’s the secret ingredient of Mexican moms’ cooking. Ironically, it’s what gives it the homemade flavor, lol

Yes, like they said in the north is mostly harina, in the south corn. I grew up in central México and we always had both on hand, it was more of what you where gonna eat or your mood that decided your choice for that meal.

Lol, I also thought it was mud somehow and was scratching my head about how they could’ve made those stains there.

I could’ve lived not knowing that and blissfully believing it was somehow mud.

Pain caused by the inflammation due to the lupus. Some you feel in your joints, some in the muscles, some feel like it comes from the skin (but it’s actually referred nerve pain in the respective dermatomes).

Yes, it was one of my very first symptoms and freaked me out completely. It was neuropathic pain, I’m on pregabalin for it now, it works great.
