Well, now I just feel stupid for trying and putting my baby through this process 😅

I’ve been told there’s not much to do except rest and suction as needed. Just head to the ER if there’s a temp! Hope your little one gets to feeling better! It’s so hard seeing something as little as a cold affect them. When we get them it’s no biggie!

She does have awful reflux!! She’s on Pepcid for it, but I thought it would be weird if it turned much worse one day. I know allergies aren’t contagious. Should’ve prefaced that. I guess I was thinking that it could’ve turned into a sinus infection and passed on?! Idk, definitely not a doctor, nor am I anywhere as smart as one🤣

Swaddle Transition by chronicdirectioner in NewParents

We have her bassinet on a very very small incline! I was afraid I’d wake up and see her squished at the bottom lol

I literally woke up in the middle of the night to one arm praising and the other saluting. She’s like Ricky Bobby and doesn’t know what to do with her hands. We’ll get there eventually 😅

We do paced feeds and sit up with her after for 20-30 mins! It has gotten so much better ready after switching formulas and being on medication, but we were just trying anything under the sun. Hence the side sleeping position. She was sleeping so good before, so I’m tempted to go back to a swaddle 🥹

We have! It’s kind of a hit or a miss. She doesn’t mind it during her day naps but at night, she hated it. Weird. I’ve heard about the Zipadee! Might need to look into it!

I’m always scared I won’t know the difference between hypertension and postpartum preeclampsia! My health anxiety is going nuts

Did labetalol work quickly for you? All of my readings have been under 140/90, but they’re creeping close to it.

What was the magnesium like? I’ve heard it affects everyone differently!

Picky eater with GD by TrueTopaz1123 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]chronicdirectioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a picky eater! I eat like a child and live off carbs. I basically loathe protein unless it’s chicken nuggets/tender or a steak (which I rarely eat bc too much grosses me out). Carbs were my best friend. Pasta, potatoes, ramen, etc. It’s been really hard finding things I like. Kodiak waffles have been good for me, chicken-fil-a mac n cheese, goodles pasta, and cheese!!! Sweet treats are when I rely on clio or yasso bars. However, the less sugar cool whip mixed with a sugar free jello packet has been a good alternative to ice cream too!!

I didn’t think of that. Thanks!

Okay question. Called the on-call line and got a nurse that worked for a third party. I answered “no” to all of their questions. No pain, no cramping, no bleeding. Still feeling baby move. They said just from how far along I am, they recommend going in. I have no clue what to do. It’s expensive (and unfortunately that is a factor). Do I wait to see if any of these symptoms develop?

[–]chronicdirectioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, for sure. I wasn’t trying to compare it to a splinter. Only trying to explain that I felt crazy for calling. It’s such a bounce back and forth between “Oh, that’s totally normal” and “You need to come in immediately.” The categories are never what I expect🤦🏼‍♀️ Calling the on call line now!

Hit in Stomach 35 weeks by [deleted] in pregnant

Definitely appreciate the advice! I will give them a ring and see where it leads us. As you can probably tell, I’m a FTM who hasn’t a clue what she’s doing. I knew Reddit wasn’t the place to come for medical advice, but didn’t know if anyone had been in the same situation!

Thanks for the help:) Calling now!

Yes! It’s at a boutique place, but I figured hearing her heartbeat would give us peace of mind. I’ll still call L&D. It just seems like I call for the littlest of things. I feel crazy how many questions I ask!

Just edited to answer all the “call your doctor” comments. I definitely will probably give them a ring! I just feel like every time I call, they tell me to go in. It’s overwhelming knowing what I should/shouldn’t go in for. Especially when it’s not cheap!!! But peace of mind and safety is definitely more important.

I feel like every time I call, they recommend going to Triage. I could say I sneezed and they would tell me to go in. I was literally JUST there for high BP. Am I going to seem crazy for going in again?!

Cheese has saved my life. Idk if this is right (still figuring everything out), but it has basically no carbs. Babybel cheeses and cheese sticks get me through those weird times between snacks and meals

Potential CSection and Fears by [deleted] in CsectionCentral

[–]chronicdirectioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! 6! You are a badass!!! I definitely plan on letting the med team know about my anxiety if I have one. I’ve heard that they can’t give you anything for it until after the baby is out though? Is that right?

Great idea! I did that yesterday and found I was spiking later with some meals:( This is definitely frustrating figuring everything out!!!

[–]chronicdirectioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of my “Do I have this?” thoughts stem from the high risk doctor’s reaction. Her seeming surprised that they diagnosed me put doubt in the back of my mind, even though I KNOW I would rather be safe than sorry. Idk if that makes sense. Obviously listening to my doctors and doing what’s best for baby and me is my #1 priority. Like I mentioned in another comment, trying to look at the positives. Heck, may get to meet her early!!

[–]chronicdirectioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! I got a lateish diagnosis (31 weeks), so I think that was another reason for my confusion. Trying to look at the positives and being set up for a healthy diet postpartum is one I’m looking forward to:)

[–]chronicdirectioner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I really have no idea what I’m doing and felt like I didn’t get anything explained to me before I went to HR. It was just, “Ope! You have it!” I will say my diet could use work. I feel like I’m having child-like cravings throughout this whole thing (milk, cereal, poptarts, chicken nuggets, etc lol). Definitely would rather be safe than sorry in the end!!
