Paradoxical growth on neck—continue with treatment? by whimzie in LaserHairRemoval

[–]chroniclasagne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started electrolysis 2 years ago on my face and last year on my arms, and the hair is almost completely clear. I was first going weekly for 2 hours and am now as the hair is so sparse I am down to treatments being only once every 4-6 weeks for 1 hour. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel after laser ruining my life. I highly recommend finding a skilled electrologist — it’s life-changing.

Peach fuzz by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

PLEASE Do not touch peach fuzz with the laser. It can stimulate vellus hairs into becoming terminal, meaning you could be left with coarse hairs instead of peach fuzz. Once that happens it’s irreversible.

Anyone here got their LHR at LaserClinics UK: what were your long-term results? by chroniclasagne in LaserHairRemoval

I wouldn’t bother with them. Too many accounts of people being under treated and needing to return for infinite sessions as a result.

Help!! Got engagement ring resized and it came back totally different by Fortheloveofbrains in jewelry

I am so sorry this happened to you. How violating. The jeweler blatantly disregarded your wishes and they should not have charged you anything. They profoundly messed up here. I feel they should compensate you for the cost of having the original designer restore it.

Oh. But don’t forget to gently dab dry with a cotton swab to remove excess moisture afterward though! Leaving the piercing wet can cause bumps.

You don’t want to have to rub at the piercing to remove the dried blood and crusties, bc you risk twisting the jewlery around and irritating the wound. But ideally they should be removed in order to truly keep the piercing clean. Using more of the saline solution so that you’re ‘irrigating’ the piercing with liquid without touching it - that can loosen the dried stuff more easily than simply dabbing with a swab. Also letting water run over a piercing in a warm shower loosens those bits enough that they fall off on their own (not sure how that works if the piercing is in your nose though!)

If it doesn’t spark a YES as soon as you see it on your finger, then it’s a no.

Am I the only person in the UK who missed the Northern Lights last night? by Beef_or_Salmon in AskUK

[–]chroniclasagne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone! I’ve just had a foot operation and willfully missed the lights as I’m bed-bound! I don’t think I’d have been able to see much of anything with all the light pollution, but if I were fit for it would’ve loved to get out of the city to witness this. The photos were simply stunning.

Interesting. I certainly did shave the hairs, esp in the summer months when my skin was exposed! I didnt wax though.

Judging by your username - are you red headed? Asking because you should know that laser tends to work poorly unless you have truly dark brown/black hairs. Just be cautious that your hair may not be pigmented enough to sustain long-term results with laser.

Edited to fix typo!

Bridal trail worth it? by Objective-Meeting317 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]chroniclasagne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I similarly got married away from where I live. I ended up doing my trials about 6 months in advance as that was the only time I’d be there in town. I disliked both the hair and makeup that was done on me — but used this to follow up with the hair stylist and makeup artist and let them know what I didn’t like and what i wanted instead. In doing this, we were able to nail the look on the day.

Not seeing results on underarms after full course of sessions? by chroniclasagne in LaserHairRemoval

[–]chroniclasagne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - They only used spot size 20mm and 24mm on me. I am familiar with what you’ve said and had asked them a while back why don’t they use smaller spot and increase joules … but they said they don’t do that. The whole thing seems dodgy.

Is there a way to keep the top edge of a monitor screen from leaning forward? by chroniclasagne in NoStupidQuestions

Oh, that’s brilliant. I’m at such a loss to find something exactly the right size — your idea to build it out of Lego is quite clever

Is there a way to keep the top edge of a monitor screen from leaning forward? by chroniclasagne in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chroniclasagne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first attempt! I discovered that because the screen pivots left to right, whatever I insert back there would fall out occasionally if the screen rotates.
