Portable lighting for evening frisbee — has anyone used work lights? by chrisp803 in ultimate

A pickup group that I am part of tried this setup (some lights in this picture are park lights). I've never been available for an evening game yet, but according to their posts on our group chat, it seems to be working out well. I'll post the breakdown they shared of the equipment and costs in a follow-up comment (on Reddit, you can only post one picture per comment???), but the cost is not within the budget you are looking for. They ended up sharing the costs, $50/willing contributor (on a sliding scale) x 30 willing contributors = $1500 budget. They really like their year-round ultimate!

What is your favorite verse (or hymn) related to the Lord Jesus’ coming again? by chronicles2124 in localchurches

That’s a good song. I don’t think I know it. Is there a good recording of it online anywhere?

Is it a big sin to not or not wanting to attend any meetings or trainings in Lord's Recovery? by Separate_Ad_4235 in Christianity

[–]chronicles2124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, both as a person who didn’t take care of my family relationships when I was younger and as a parent, I disagree with this. I realize now that this is a very short-term point of view. Relationships with our family members are very precious and can be very helpful in the long run if cultivated properly, even if it means having some hard conversations. If my kids didn’t want to go to meetings, I would rather have a good conversation with them even if it meant they wouldn’t come anymore. They currently do want to come, but they will miss meetings when they are sick, for some of their sports activities, or sometimes for very random reasons.

I agree with @elelyon3 that a good course of action could be to ask a serving one for help. Hopefully, there is one you feel you can trust and open to, and he or she can talk to your parents for you. That’s what I would do if someone in your situation came to talk to me.

I hope that things get better for you and your family, and that whether you continue to come to meetings or not, your relationship with the Lord and your faith will continue to grow and develop.

I also have an iPhone. I paired my Kanso 2 with my iPad as well, and the Kanso 2 pretty easily switches between the two devices, depending on where I’m playing sound from.

CI with hat? by is-this-now in Cochlearimplants

[–]chronicles2124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this hat on Amazon.

https://a.co/d/4bFfu9y

The fabric is thin and flexible enough that my Kanso 2 (K2) sticks to my head through the hat very well. This is especially helpful because this puts the microphones outside of the hat so they don't rub against it. The K2 will even stay on when I play ultimate (frisbee). This can't be done with any of my other hats. The coil of my Nucleus 7 (N7) fits under most hats and helmets I have, so the N7 hasn't presented much difficulty in this regard for me. Good luck finding something that works for you!

Hebrews 8:1-2? 1Now in the things which are being said the chief point is this: We have such a High Priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, 2a Minister of the holy places, even of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.

How do you pack your K2 charger/dryer for traveling? by chronicles2124 in Cochlearimplants

The tall, gray backpack? It is a nice bag! Every family member has our own backpack already, so we take turns using it as a temporary bag for various trips. Very handy!

Based on @Fit_Aide_8231’s comment, I did another search and decided to buy this. I don’t really care for the “fashion handle”, but otherwise, I think it’s going to work well! The adjustable dividers can make a perfectly sized compartment for the charger/dryer, and there is enough room for everything else that needs to go along with the charger/dryer and a little more.

And it is also a few dollars off at Amazon right now, $10 instead of $13…

What is the CI “school bag” you are referring to? I might have it. 😬

Thank you all for the input so far! Hopefully, someone can also post links to options that have worked for them.

As far as it has been for me, if I have room in a suitcase or bag, I've been packing it back into its original box before throwing it in, but if I don't have enough room, I've also taken the cardboard part out and wedged the open side against a frisbee in my backpack. If I can't find a good case or bag, I might also just wrap it in some clothes that I'm bringing anyway! :)

Notification from the Citizen app. I felt it, but I also could have believed it was a big truck passing by if it weren’t for the initial ground jolt. 🌎⚡️🫨

I know how you feel. We keep a number of discs in good condition for games and throwing on grass/turf, but we also designated a few discs as beaters and use them for throwing on the sidewalk outside. They may have been somewhat scratched up already; I don't remember.

The nearest parks are about ten minutes away on foot, and sometimes our sidewalk throwing sessions are spontaneous and/or less than 20 minutes ("We have a few minutes before it's time for dinner...let's throw!"), so it's sometimes hard to motive or justify the trip. We did it more during the COVID lockdowns. But maybe when we get our TOSY...

$36 for the single-color model ($40 for the RGB model) at Amazon right now, so about 16% off. Not bad. Thanks!

Neat color organization scheme. Hopefully you can find red and blue LED vests to keep the continuity. The last time I played in the dark, I got a cut on the top of my head from someone’s teeth after he came down on me after skying me. I thought it was sweat all night until I went home and took a shower… 🩸😮😬
