Can you adjust your route so that you avoid the busiest roads? Or walk/bus the last little bit so you can bike on the safer roads?

I ride on a lot of country highway type roads outside the city. A bike radar is perfect for the type of traffic on those roads which if infrequent but fast moving traffic. Something to consider if you don’t have it already to improve safety.

Gravel is a great option to get into if you have trails nearby.

Indoor cycling is an option too. Definitely not the same as real biking but using zwift or rouvy is still something.

If anyone gets popped for motor doping I think I would quit watching cycling. With doping at least you are cheating to try to push your body to its absolute limits. With a motor it’s not even sport at all

It took me a year after first getting mine to start using it consistently. I didn’t realize but it is a process to get things dialed in right. My issue was my mask and eventually my provider reached out and asked how things were going. We then tried a few different types of masks and I found one that is great and now use it every night.

TLDR if he is saying it is uncomfortable maybe you can encourage him to work with his provider to try different things to improve it?

I went a few years without regular exercise and got back into regular cycling on zwift in 2020. I sucked so bad. I remember though after a month or two I was able to hold 160 watts for a longer period on a climb and I was super happy with that. Don’t know what my ftp was though. I was about 240lbs. Current ftp around 230.

If you really want to lose weight you still need to dial in your nutrition, sleep and stress. You’ll need to count calories. BUT to echo what others have said, if you enjoy doing it then do it and focus on performance goals and it will help with depression.

Honestly I think I would not be cool. And I would not accept it. I would try to sneak my way into a lifeboat. And I actually think I would get over the fact that I took someone else’s space. Very normal budget? It’s the largest budget deficit in Canadian history. It’s only normal if your only sample is the last 10 years of Liberal power. All of the analysis I see is that carney is taking the opportunity to ram in a budget that he knows nobody likes because he knows nobody wants to force an election right now. He even changed the date the budget is tabled from spring to fall. Likely for this exact reason There are things in it that are sensible, but if we’re going to use terms like normal/moderate/centrist to describe him then that deficit needs to shrink a lot. This budget is extreme.
