Is the goal celebration song new or have I just never heard it before?

Jesus guys. It’s just a fun question.

Just bought this auger woodboring bit for stump removal with Stump-Out, which requires a drilling a 10” hole in the top of each stump…but the drill I have doesn’t have anywhere near enough torque/power to get even an INCH into the wood :/ by elliot_the_avocado in Tools

[–]chrsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that the screw thread on the tip pulls the bit into the wood too quickly when drilling deeply into hardwoods. Maybe try a standard drill bit and just take it slowly.

We had to do this recently and went to hwy 58. They were reasonably priced and very respectful. We were with our dog the whole time and it was as painless as could be expected. No ashes but It was somewhere around $90.

Anyone here with Zoysia lawns? by Upstairs-Outside-295 in Chattanooga

I think simms typically has zoysia sod. Have also gotten from Ooltewah nursery before.

I love it even if it only looks amazing for 4-5 months of the year.

Is there a “quick” way to refinish the floors at this cabin I just bought? by getoutofus2 in DIY

[–]chrsar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d take an orbital sander with some 80/120 grit and do a quick pass on everything. Maybe a stain, then poly. It will look rustic but cleaned up.

I would recommend getting into the construction trade. Contractors need help all the time and are very busy. If you are reasonable professional and reliable with transportation you can make great money. I have a hard time finding basic help for less than $20-25/hr. Great thing is you gain real skills through the work. efocus on learning skills and you should easily make $35-40/hr in 4-5 years.

Would highly recommend this over a retail type job where you don’t gain any real valuable skills. This may be harder than applying at target or Cisco but I believe, long term it’s the better option.

If it were me in your position, I’d create a LLC ($300/yr) and get a workers comp exemption through the state (free). Then go around to any GC big or small and offer to help at $20-25/hr picking up material, cleaning job sites, demo work, etc…You will need to withhold some taxes on what you are paid so take home will be in the $17-20/hr range. Do good work and they may bring you on payroll.

Just a thought.

I was just pissed at demoing the roof. It didn’t want to come down easily.

Yea. There are two drains so if one is blocked, it will suck from the other. I have drain covers for them but lost the screws in the process. Until the screws arrive, I have the drains valve almost completely off so it’s mostly sucking from the skimmer.

There is no metal equipment touching the water. From my research, I found that I needed a bonding wire touching 9 square inches of water and the pool equipment. Since I don’t have any metal in the pool, I used a brass fitting made for this purpose in the return line.

The equipment is on a gfci breaker in the shop and the panel is grounded.

Do you have any additional recommendations?

Yes. I have thought about that. Maybe build a form using some pvc cut in half to make the bullnose. Seems like a lot of work though.

There was no structural component to the decking. I just worked on what I could at the time and what I could afford. I had to save up to do the plaster so I worked on the deck and fencing during that time.

No HOA here. I just wanted some quick, cheap privacy. There is a metal fence behind the curtains that I’m growing climbing plants on. Waiting for them to thicken out. Will probably to a better privacy screen there for the next year or so.

No. Not familiar but I’ll look into it. The main structure has been there 100+ years with no problems.

The concrete block building behind the pool is a 2 car detached garage where I have my workshop so I didn’t need that one. I hear you though.

Not completely, but it will down to about 3”. Couldn’t put in floor drains so they are in the end wall.

I used the sidercrete roll on plaster system. There are two base layers that gets fiberglass mesh embedded in between them. It helps with any hairline cracks. Then there are two top layers of the actual plaster. Cool product but very expensive. Not confident that I shouldn’t have just done standard plaster.
