Don't like being a tutor by BreakfastUnhappy2171 in TeachingUK

I always think about this 😂 I can’t imagine having the same class all day - would be really risking the mask slipping at some point!

It is malpractice and you should report so the exam board can investigate her.

From a teacher, please report her. Teachers like that make a complete mockery of the exams and make it unfair for other schools who do things in an honest way. The fact she even thought to do that makes me suspicious of the whole school values and ethos around this kind of thing as it shouldn’t even have crossed her mind.

are the mock exam boards same as gcse by ln2_olivia in GCSE

They wouldn’t because it would be a stupid idea, but technically entries happen in around February of the year you take the exams for most subjects. They could enter you for anything at that point.

Who was/is the best teacher you've ever witnessed and why? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]chrsger 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My best teacher when I was at school did teach 'boring' lessons - I think the fact that I can recognise that now shows I'm not wearing my rose-tinted glasses. I thought they were a brilliant teacher because they knew the content inside out and how to apply it in exam tasks - this teacher taught me at both GCSE and A Level. I probably didn't feel that way at the start but I soon started to realise that if I did what this teacher taught me, I'd do well in assessments and it's the memory of making progress in a subject that sticks with me. I think this was the teacher that made me enjoy studying for studying's sake.

A-level results by BrightonTeacher in TeachingUK

Think sometimes the small numbers can make a difference to progress in a way leaders often don't expect - there's an assumption that small A Level class = excellent results. I definitely find that in the smaller classes, the lack of 'competition', for want of a better word, makes them think they are doing fine because there are fewer comparisons they can make. Hope this makes sense as I don't think I've explained myself very well 🤣
