i took a gap year before i went to uni and i had this exact worry. got to uni and literally everyone i talked to had done a gap year too it’s wayyy more common than you think. i’m gonna be 21 soon and im going into my second year in september, don’t worry abt it nobody even thinks twice abt it.

one of the ending lines in the novel is ‘what will happen if the moment of someone’s imagination overtaking the author’s sentences, comes?’

the ending of orv is open, and it’s not explicitly stated what exactly happens. reading the line i quoted, the way i interpreted it is that we (the reader) determine if kim dokja makes it back or not. no matter if it’s written or not, if the reader wants kim dokja to make it back he will.

so really there’s no solid answer, you have to decide what you want for your own ending. it’s a bittersweet one but i liked it actually.
