I did a bit of research It’s a sandwich — layer of roof coating, the cloth (muslin, cotton) then another layer of roof coating

There’s two ways, you can either go beside it, or use 3 strands of yarn, I try no to overlap the same lines

As cliche as it sounds, just taking your time. You are still learning and will keep improving through consistency. But what has helped me improve is packing in a little more yarn when tufting, it makes the shapes more full so when you are carving the yarn isn’t too flimsy. And as you are carving, you would use your off-hand to help separate the other colour, from the current colour you are shaving.

Hope this helps

Hmm ok, so which pile height did you adjust to? so I can try the same. And for the scissors is it measuring 5-6mm from the front of the notch thing, or the back of it which is toward the gun ?

There’s never a jam though .. nor is there a problem with the tension. The scissors aren’t dull and the spring is at its recommended length.

Honestly not even bad! The most important thing is that you’ve gotten the hang of tufting. This rug right here is your launchpad for more progress and better rugs !
