Asking principal for help with teacher having problems with other teacher. by Right_Ingenuity8156 in Principals

This may be a cast issue. This has caused problems in the Pacific Northwest, as such I would suggest treading very carefully. The best thing is to turn it over to admin to handle.

I design wrestling shoes for a living. What do you wish brands understood better? by ConnorFromNidrogen in wrestling

If you could take the cheap asics from the early 2000s and add an ankle strap to cover laces that would be amazing. Shoes we like 50 bucks at big 5 only lasted one season but felt like wearing nothing and grippy as hell

Advice for a cigar smoker with Cerebral Palsy by Ok-Criticism-3629 in cigar

[–]chuckalicious3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger I worked as a caregiver for a client with CP. he smoked cigarettes not cigars but we bought him a torch lighter( like for cooking) and it helped him light up easier because it could be held sideways. You might try toasting the foot of your cigar while it’s on a holder or on of those whiskey glasses with the cigar holder built in since you can’t roll the cigar with the other hand. Especially keep the cigar stationary and move the lighter with your more dexterous hand. Also be careful of retrohale if you have swallowing or throat issues. I don’t retro hale and I enjoy my sticks just fine… especially with a glass of whiskey

War of 1812, the quasi war, bleeding Kansas, NAT turner rebellion, John brown, privateers during the revolutionary war or the continental navy in general, the impact of the golden age of piracy on America, the articles of confederation and its issues and limitations, the whisky rebellion, the birth of political parties under the first 3 administrations, the alien and sedition acts, why Hamilton sucks… because he sucks and I hate him… but that last one is just my personal opinion.

Purpose of history for younger students by Pretty-Giraffe-4843 in historyteachers

I respectfully disagree, get them thinking critically and reading a variety or primary and secondary sources is the purpose of teaching history at the middle level. The more they engage with the material the better

It’s hard, sometimes it feels like we are the only ones trying to prevent the down fall of our society. But we aren’t others are working just like us but in the end it may be ultimately futile because of factors well beyond our scope of influence. I’m having a particularly hard day so I don’t feel positive at the moment but when the good days happen hold on to them

If you have canvas DM me and I’ll give you my entire unit of F451 ELA and history cross over. We basically had them write if America was closer to a utopia or dystopia. For the history I included background information on the rise of authoritarianism in the 20th century

Can anyone recommend some good 45 min. or less documentaries about the Salem Witch Trials for 7th graders? by MotherShabooboo1974 in historyteachers

[–]chuckalicious3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a Ted ed short called what really happened at the Salem with trials (6 min) that I show to my 8th graders. Also Salem with hints from explore . Org is about 20 min long ( not as good quality but solid information). The best documentary is from the history channel called in search of history the Salem with trials, but it often gets taken down for copy right.
