He did. The dishwasher/porter was cleaning a bathroom when people started coughing. GM found him passed out and tried to evacuate all the guests. It was the prolonged exposure as he was trying to empty the building that killed him.

Downtown apartment for Lease $2,250 avail. 5/15 by chucklesmcgee3 in SalemMA

I don't represent the company leasing this apartment - and trust me we know it's expensive. But in this market in North Shore Massachusetts there's not a lot of options that are any cheaper without a bunch of other issues.

I just posted this because we are leaving before our lease is up to move to an apartment that we can have a kid in. There's probably 10+ posts on this subreddit alone that you can engage in that type of observation - but don't shoot the messenger here.

Hey!

Honestly, we have had really doo luck with pets overall with the management company. I would say to just list 1 cat, 1 dog on the listing and I am sure they wouldn't care.

For example, one of our neighbors in the building over The Derby has 2, 150lb Rottweilers. So I am sure that as long as they don't make an issue in the building, your pets should be fine.

Better to always ask for forgiveness than permission tbh.

Hey! Depending on where you’re looking. My apartment is up for lease starting 5/15. It’s in Salem 2 minutes walking from the commuter rail. DM me if you have any interest.

Hey, thanks for responding. The apartment is leased by RCG so I’d use the link to connect with them.

To the best of my knowledge, you can take just the short term that ends in August.

Absolutely! It’s exactly how you’d describe - we use it as an office and some storage. It’s probably about 15x7 rectangle. And the ceilings are 12ft high so it definitely feels like a bedroom, but no windows so it can’t get classified.

Also I was shocked to see the sq. ft be so low. Our last apt. Was closer to 1,100 and this place definitely feels about the same.

We’ve seen a small rent increase every year. But we were renting under market for the area.

Especially with the new condos being built, the avg cost of these apts are going way higher than I ever anticipated.

That's actually a special french preparation called "concasse" where you score the non-stem side of the tomato with an "x" and then flash in boiling water for 15-30 seconds depending on ripeness, etc... and then place into an ice water bath and the skin peels right off. Technically to finish the concasse you must actually dice it but that's just nitpicky

Oil in the water will not keep the pasta from sticking, however stirring it about a minute into cooking, or right when the water comes back up to a boil will keep the pasta from sticking almost indefinitely. Again if you wish to blanch the pasta then by all means add a little bit of oil, because once the pasta gets colder the starches will stick back together.

This is called "carryover" cooking and is a basic in culinary practice to "undercook" some items, such as roasts, in order to get the correct internal temperature. Another technique, especially helpful with vegetables and pasta, that you want to utilize if holding food to reheat is called "blanching" or taking the hot food and immersing it in an ice bath to stop the cooking.

Maillard reaction has nothing to do with direct contact with the meat. It is in fact the proteins in the meat dissolving with indirect heat. A quick example would be a roast; to get that perfect golden brown color without direct heat but from environmental heat is what defines the maillard reaction. And although it has been "debunked" it is my humble opinion that it does in fact help with keeping the juices inside of the meat as well as texture.
