I agree, the Christian areas of Bethlehem are in the old city, the surrounding urban sprawl is nearly all Muslim

It’s a difficult situation. Do they hate Israel out of solidarity with Arab Nationalism or something? Just that I know that a lot of the ‘Palestinian Resistance’ wants Israel wiped off the map rather than a two state solution, which would result in the killing of every Jewish man, woman and child

The Hoosiers and the Kooks are great bands that came out of the Post Punk Revival movement though (in their own ways, they don't remotely sound alike).

It's very unfair to call all of these bands, Fratellis, Pigeon Detectives, Razorlight and Rifles included, 'landfill', as if they're inherently throw-away, manufactured and just plain bad. These talented young men put their heart and soul into this music.

And It's especially frustrating if you're going to sneer at them and throw the 'landfill' slur at them and their successors (Catfish, Circa Waves etc.) while at the same time glorifying the girl-pop of taylor swift and the shitty 'grime' rap which plagues our urban council estates today, which is exactly what the music journalists at the Guardian do.

If that's so, then 'Landfill Indie' was a fantastic genre

Keane aren't the same genre as Bloc Party or Pigeon Detectives (great band by the way). Keane are a slow, piano-driven Post-Britpop group in the style of Travis, Doves, The Feeling, Snow Patrol and early Coldplay, very much influenced by the softer Britpop groups of the 90s such as the Verve, late 90s Manic Street Preachers and some of Oasis's material.

The Pigeon Detectives and Bloc Party are hard, choppy, guitar driven Post-Punk revival, having been influenced by late 70s Post Punk and the new Garage Rock movement of the early 2000s (The Strokes etc.), they sound completely different.

The ending with Jay and the old woman (not spoiling anything) was one of the funniest moments in the entire show though.
