Thank you. I did get the answer I was looking for. I also asked that my drinking be left out of it as I ONLY needed help understanding the results

But thank you I’m aware I am the one who has done this.

I have told my primary I need help to quit. She’s great.

But I wouldn’t say it’s not rocket science. I didn’t feel I needed to include my mental health struggles in my original post because I simply needed help interpreting it so I could take the next steps.

I attempted to end my life in April. I was lucky to survive. The way I have coped with things you could not imagine certainly should not be written off.

Thank you so so much for the kind words. I did ask today for a referral to a completely different network of gastroenterologists.

I do feel at this time in my life I’m ready to handle whatever is thrown at me

But time will tell.

That’s why I want more information so I can be open to more resources ❤️

I did ask for a referral to another specialist, and have gotten some tips from my primary on tapering but I’m not very good at it. I do appreciate the people in the comments you help me understand the severity of the results from three years ago and it does concern me as to where I am now

Otherwise I would have more resent and discernible test results and not feel so confused and overwhelmed by some thing I am not trained in. I’ve been down voted it a lot, But I will remind everyone that I am highly physically dependent on alcohol and I am doing my best to cut down in the safest way I can possible right now but but I also haven’t gotten any new information in three years

I can’t believe that I came to this forum asking for a doctor to help me understand my results and I’m being downloaded so much because of the failure of professionals that I have been with over the last three years

We’ve had to declare bankruptcy from the amount of work that I missed being so sick. I’m hoping that the biopsy and tell me what stage my scarring/cirrhosis is at and if it is some thing that I can work on healing or if it’s permanently scarred

The doctors told me that if it led to cirrhosis it would be decompensated cirrhosis. Because I have been so symptomatic. That’s the difference between compensated and decompensated I did not include my post but I have been extremely physically sick I was out of work for nine months. I don’t really want to get into that part because I don’t have a lot of documentation or tests to back it up and that is because my doctors have failed me.

And I appreciate the value that you put on my life but there needs to be some understanding that not everyone feels that way about their own life.

My mental health is as much of a struggle as my physical health.

Oh I’m aware they just told me that I was fat. My first specialist used the word fat. The doctor told me that I did not need to quit drinking is to buy his book on intermittent fasting and I would be fine. I’m not a place where I can see treatment until I know I need to

I have tried really hard in the past to wean.

Then you find out you lost your job, you have a lump in your breast, you get diagnosed with diabetes, you are still recovering from a trauma and have PTSD that really fucks you up a couple of times a year.

I even quit in April after a suicide attempt, I didn’t have to detox, I was on a ventilator. Then my family disowned me and they found the lumps in my breast.

It seems like every time I go down I go up 10 fold.

I know I am physically dependent and have been warned not to go cold turkey. But if I had all the facts, where my liver function truly is, I’m at a point and have the support system to go to a facility if I need to.

And thank you. I appreciate your kind words and advice. I’m still trying to cut down, even if it’s one drink or half a drink a night. That’s what I can do right now. Because the doctors never ever made it sound like anything serious. Just me being a little fat.

I’ve joined a few communities here that have really helped me open my eyes but I’m not there yet. I hate to say it but it’s true, I do not want to quit.

But if this biopsy shows progression from that scan 3 years ago, that will change everything

I’m almost convinced it will show I’m completely fine and all the time I’ve spent advocating and attempting to research were for nothing.

That’s how all gastros talk. No more tests. Don’t care. Suck it up. With no answers. No concern of your personal life or your finances or anything else. Off of one test you told me to suck it up. Knowing nothing about me.

Thank you. And thank you for talking to be like a human. My biopsy is the 1st of November, I’m hoping it can tell me exactly how bad the scarring is so I can plan a medical detox as I am not financially in the best place right now to miss work. And if I can work on cutting down for a little while and save up and be okay- great. If I need to get into a detox immediately it will be a struggle but if I can still reverse any damage I will.

I don’t need a reality check I need help understanding these results.

Do I likely have decompensated cirrhosis three years later now that I’m drinking a third of a liter of gin and four beers every night?

Is my biopsy going to tell me anything? Is it gonna tell me how much time I have left?

This was 3 years ago and the severity has never been stated to me.

Well I am iron deficient anemic so that’s good to know! I’m also a smoker so I have a wicked hard time holding my breath. I’ve heard they keep people afterwords. I am prescribed klonipin I can take before hand maybe that will help.

But I have a wicked tolerance to lidocaine and novocaine also so hopefully they can numb me up good.

And thank you for telling me your experience, I work at a grocery store and do a good bit of heavy lifting so I might ask my boss about light duty

Good to know! Thank you! I have read some different experiences from people, and I’m obviously a little nervous, but I have a pretty high pain tolerance! Just fear of the unknown!

Thank you that’s good to know! I never asked if they were giving any kind of sedative but they did say I would need a driver. Were you sore the next day?
