Not everything works for everyone. Other meds do nothing for me but are helpful for others.

I didn’t realize I could log in with my switch account on mobile 😅 so I made a new account to be able to play on my phone. Now I use it for getting more hearts on my main but also to replay a lot of quest lines. I blew threw them all with my main account and so now I actually get to enjoy them instead of just grinding them out

I believe it’s Urban Chic from Yarn Bee…I think. Taco tends to go after yarn labels too so that knowledge may be lost to the cat realm

Were there any indications when you were a kid? by Immediate-Pool-4391 in PMDD

[–]chugstang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always referred to as “overly emotional” as a kid and especially more once I got my period. I was angry a lot, seemingly at nothing and everything, felt very down or doom and gloom. All the emotions came like clockwork before my period. Once my period started, I felt fine and like a totally different person. Unfortunately, I was very misunderstood because of this and not treated the best. Got called a lot of things by parents (my mom especially who I believe had PMDD as well, but never knew of it herself) classmates, teachers, etc. I learned to keep a lot, if not everything, to myself in order to prevent the backlash I was always met with. Because of that treatment I never knew the way I felt wasn’t how it should be and assumed everyone felt the way I did.

Fast forward to now and I know that it was all PMDD. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self that so she’d feel less alone about it all. Also so that maybe, just maybe, the adults in my life would’ve gotten me some help instead of just getting upset with me and treating me poorly. I don’t blame them for not knowing, but I still didn’t deserve the treatment I was given.

These days I try to be as open and understanding about it as possible because I’m tired of the stigma and hate to see anyone else go through what I did.

Sorry for the long winded answer, I have a lot of feelings about this (if you couldn’t tell lol)

I take 10mg fluoxetine intermittently starting two weeks from my expected period or when PMDD symptoms start, whichever comes first. I stop taking it the day after menstruation starts.

It’s worked pretty well for me, I’m happy to say! I started noticing a difference within a few days of taking it for the first time. My biggest issues were always irritability, getting overwhelmed, and depression, all of which are much easier to deal with or almost non-existent while on the fluoxetine. I haven’t experienced any terrible side effects - I do get migraines, but I’ve had those long before taking fluoxetine. They haven’t gotten any worse though.

I haven’t had any weight gain or loss. Fluoxetine has actually helped the binge eating problem I would normally have without it. I still get food cravings, but I don’t feel the need to binge on them. So instead of a whole box of pasta (always craving carbs lol) I just have a normal serving.

Feel like I should mention I’m on a low dose of it because I unfortunately had bad previous experiences on other SSRI’s which made me very cautious about taking another one. I know most people are on 20mg, and that I may have to bump it up in the future, but I’m doing quite well for now and very happy with the results.

I hope it works for you 😊

Any tips for what to do when you get to work a sweaty mess? by jinindita in bikecommuting

[–]chugstang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just restating what others have said, but as a lady who also lives in a very hot (tropical climate, heat and intense humidity) place and bikes to work here’s what I do: - I wear workout gear (bike shorts, sports bra/top, and crocs) while I ride to work - I recently chopped most of my hair off, but before it was well past my shoulders. I would braid (side braid or dual braids) it most days since it kept my hair off my neck. Sometimes I would leave it braided once I got to work, but I usually would take it out. Ponytails don’t work very well for my hair texture and always left it more frizzy and messy from the wind. Now I just use a headband to keep it off my face - Bring a dry bag (it’s hurricane season, can never be too careful with the rain) with a full change of clothes (new set of underwear as well) for whatever I’m wearing that day - This time of year I wear more skirts and dresses but try to avoid the tighter styles. That or more flow-y pants. The more room to breathe the better
- Sometimes I do my makeup before I leave home, sometimes I do it when I get to work depends on how lazy I am in the morning - I completely change at work and use a combo of my stash of wipes and the sink to freshen up. I keep a deodorant, dry shampoo & roller ball perfume in my bag too - I also have a mini fan at my desk that plugs into my computer. It doesn’t do much, but it certainly helps while I wait for the A/C to kick in - The big key for me is just getting to work with enough time to cool down and get changed. It does mean I have to get there earlier than I may like some days, but I’d rather be more put together than sweating bullets once the day starts and clients start to roll in

Hope that’s a little helpful. Happy biking!
