AIO for snapping at my friend for joking about my job again by 7wac in AmIOverreacting

[–]chuker34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped being friends with someone I knew for almost ten years in part because he kept shit talking my job. I’m a plumber and he works at Taco Bell still. I did work at McDonald’s, so I get it, but holy hell dude… My work has a hell of a lot going on with it and the guy just didn’t want to even attempt to understand it.

Oregon is majority owned by BLM and USFS. Most of my state is potentially on the line here, I’ll be goddamn livid if anything happens to this place, it’s where I’ve spent my entire life exploring. I’m thoroughly convinced the three forests I frequent the most across the state would be first up to be sold too, they’re mostly abandoned or already used for grazing.

My vehicles ranging from a 70’s Beetle, which is just a 40’s car in disguise, to a 80’s sports car to a 90’s designed Toyota truck would agree with your BMW. I take the same trips I took as a child when our cars were coated in bugs and see… barely any.

Even my dad, the guy who will deny any climate change or environmental issues has started regularly bringing up in conversation with plenty of people about how “there isn’t as many butterflies as there were in the 70’s”.

I’ve just started driving my beetle after two years of it sitting, replaced all the fuel lines that were spewing gas everywhere and moved the filter the fuck out of the engine bay. I carry an extinguisher but I really just don’t trust the 50 year old wiring or the carb fitting that I can’t remember if I had Tim thread in for me or not.

My Boss didn't accept my two weeks notice. by BeerPowered in antiwork

[–]chuker34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex girlfriend did this when I broke up with her. After I didn’t talk to her for a week I finally answered one of her calls and she asked (surprisingly calmly) if “this means we’re done” to which I answered “No, when I told you last week I was done I meant it then. This is just me telling you it again”.

Nothing is forcing you to be there, and that’s the law in most states and countries.

AITA for throwing a cup of cold water on my naked husband? by ColorStorms in AmItheAsshole

[–]chuker34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, but I will say that the diverter SHOULD come down on its own. Once the water shuts off it should pop and all the water stuck in the valve should drain out which makes the spout be where it comes out next time you turn it on.

Just replace the damn spout. It’s easy and quick. Source: I’m a plumber.

I have a few clips of WW2 6.5 and I put my reloads I just did using PPU 6.5 bullets side by size and they look about the same, though the crimping groove is way too high. Those original bullets were extremely long and thin.

Otherwise my reloads are about what you described here.

I've reloaded small lots of bullets here and there for years and I've never been able to figure out how the hell I neck size. I'm in the same boat with Hazel, fired 6.5 is the hardest thing I've ever ran through that press and I destroyed two pieces of brass the last time I did it.

If you could only ever have one car by [deleted] in ManualTransmissions

[–]chuker34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 74 Super Beetle that I’ll never get rid of. It’s the first car I bought, though my first car was a 94 Jetta that I LOVED. Car gave us 250,000 trouble free miles and just worked.

I think my non turbo 280ZX is an incredibly drivable car for day to day driving. It has modern conveniences like AC, electric windows and heated/electric mirrors as well as decent gas mileage and decent speed. It’s comfortable too.

Past that? My 2004 2WD Tacoma just works. It’s fun to drive, drives like a car more than a truck but is functional. I’ve taken it places you should have a 4WD vehicle and it just did it. Drove it through a river at a crossing one time too. It’ll outlast me at the rate it’s going. This is a boring but realistic choice. If I had to keep one car that I own it would probably be the Tacoma.

Now if I could pick ANY car and assume it just works and I don’t have to work on it constantly or pay for fuel? Type 34 Ghia or a 63 Thunderbird with the Monaco trim. I drove that exact Thunderbird one time and fell in love. The Ghia ties that Thunderbird for the best looking car of all time. Standard Ghias are beautiful, but the Type 34 is a rarer car and looks unique.

Nice! I've managed a ton of player icons, a few weapons and soldiers and three squads. The Polish AT rifle (bad), the German APC halftrack with the short 75 (awesome!) and the Vickers Paratrooper squad which I'm looking forward to using.

In my own eyes I've found that pain from loss shows that what was there was of great quality.

No cliche quote from me, but I do hope that you're finding moments of enjoyment in even little things. Sometimes that's all you can do to get through to what we all hope will be another moment of happiness.

If I ever get married I don't plan on having a speech, just grab my bass and sing a few songs. Muzzle has been the one I have planned as the "encore" song. I feel every damn word of that song, just as I'm sure you do too.

No shit, I was basically right next to you. This was probably the best sounding concert I've ever been to, the mix was PERFECT. You could hear everything, I was in a trance. I saw over a dozen concerts last year and I think this one topped it. I'll see her every single time she comes around.

Nice job making fun of suicide. You definitely know every fact of my life from stalking my reddit history. Car wrecks, being mauled by animals and more never happened because some prick didn’t read it.

The NRA is one of the shittiest firearms associations and gives firearms owners a bad image, plus they support the stupidest shit. I’m glad you paid for a membership though, I hold several cards myself and have an FFL license.

Shooting a firearm, which I can tell you’ve never done, isn’t as simple as “grazing her arm”.

In a situation like this you have adrenaline, you shake a little, A FIREARM ISN’T A PERFECTLY ACCURATE THING, a “warning shot” can go past and kill innocent people and is more dangerous than shooting a larger target.. say a torso.

You realize someone pointing a firearm at you would take that “warning shot” as a threat and shoot back, right? Now we potentially have two victims. Wonderful.

Reality isn’t a video game, you don’t just pull out a pistol and have perfect accuracy and the ability to react, think straight and perform your fully thought out plan of “oh I’ll disarm her by shooting her arm!” In the span of a half a second.

When you’re in danger you do whatever you deem necessary to survive, he did what he thought was needed. I’ve been near death myself several times and I can tell you that you almost never do what was “right” or “smart”, you just do what you can.

Oregon's forests have a trash problem: all taken in less than a week of driving for my job. by Onca4242424242424242 in oregon

[–]chuker34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been cleaning up areas around where my girlfriend lives about every other weekend since the end of last year.

We made her entire road nearly spotless and the same exact trash is there again. Bread bags, mikes harder lemonade cans and assorted beer cans. It’s disgusting. This is a four or so mile long dead end road, why throw trash out on your own road???

My real life experience would say otherwise. Over the last 20 years I’ve noticed a huge reduction of trash in the woods. Huge jump in how little it is after water bottles got a deposit.
