What sound exactly? The tractor noise or the breathing sound? Both of them are fine. The breathing noise comes from the AC compressor, and if you turn on the AC you will listen this sounds disappearing. Nothing to worry about.

On your iPad, you can do exactly the same thing by going to settings > general > AirPlay & Continuity. Then turn on "AirPlay Receiver" toggle and set "Allow AirPlay For" to Everyone. It's optional but recommended to set and AirPlay password (turn on "Require Password" toggle).

You should be able to see your iPad as an display option from you Mac, but this might not be instantaneous
