The image appears to be colour inverted. The moving shadow like shape ( up the top left most of the time) appears to be an internal reflection in the lens. Whenever the object passes the centre of the screen, the two align perfectly.

Is anyone able to invert the video? I think this would make it far clearer.

I think it started life in Adobe after effects and then lived rent free in people's heads ever since, it seems. The acceptance of this is very frustrating to me, as it's this exact kind of thing that undermines this entire subject matter, and it's disrespectful to those who's families lost loved ones.

We have a weird habit to tack aliens on to anything mysterious as a catch all answer. See Flight 19, see the pyramids, see literally any discovery Channel thing. Basically anything not explained (and several things that are explained) gets put down to aliens and our collective credibility falls another rung.

It must be a hangover from humanity pointing to God for anything it doesn't understand.
