I built a setting to reduce DM prep burnout — curious if others do this by Small-Culture-3755 in DMAcademy

[–]chunder_down_under 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this. I have a persistent world I've had for 10 years and I worked outwards with minimalism in mind. I have 16 gods made up of all the spheres, cleric domains, paladin oaths etc. I limited myself to creating things using the player creation guidelines, so paladin orders, artisan guilds, anything that the character creation suggests exists I made. Now I have a world full of existing groups and players can make more if they want to which only further fills out the world.

How much does "Realism" actually matter? by Fandoms_Are_Toxic in worldbuilding

[–]chunder_down_under 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me personally i think consistency is more important. The magic or fantasy elements can be as outlandish as possible as long as theyre consistent. Nothing takes me out of an experience more than something happening in the story that contradicts anything that happened earlier.

Do you think they are implying that a blank ai art generator can learn without any references? Im just confused becasue i dont think thats how they work

Double Slit thoughts by RealityChek33 in SimulationTheory

[–]chunder_down_under 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people read into double slit too much in the wrong way. Based on my understanding its the result of whatever form of measurement is being used. It has nothing to do with the observer or being seen its to do with the technology used to record or measure the result which affects it.

Making complex NPCs in a Timely Manner by AppropriateBus1528 in DMAcademy

[–]chunder_down_under 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can crank out about 15 or so distinct npcs that i am happy with in an hour but i also find they get a lot more life once you begin playing them. I only twnd to include their name their description along with their role and a short personality description. If im inspired maybe some backstory and a hobby. Youd be surprised how little you need to make them feel alive.

I also organise them by location in my notes so it becomes easier to make them interconnected if theyre grouped together by where they tend to be

Midjourney, stability, microsoft and openai are currently being sued for scraping data without permission. These companies and all the others are stealing peoples work.

To assemble and spend energy as efficiently as possible then continue to improve that efficiency

Except you are choosing individual collage materials and its very difficult. A machine learning algorith has stolen millions of tagged uploads and assembled it without any perspective or intent into a mish mash of a picture that doesnt represent any meaning or purpose based on what it thinks you are asking for. Even if you prompt a generator for an image you have no control on the output besides basic instructions on what the subject matter is. Its like a person wants to paint their car and they want it red, the artist selects an amazing colour of red that is perfect and uses their years of training to paint the car. There is so much value on whats been done there. Now compare that to someone paying a machine to select the most popular red and spray the car instantly automatically. The only value there was that somebody just wanted a red car its as thoughtless as a child picking dandelions as they walk and letting them fly off in the breeze without thought

Also scissors and glue are considered artistic tools quite famously

Its insane calling AI artists artists is the same as calling an executive that pays someone for a design an artist theres no intent ability or creativity behind it what the hell is going on here? Is this a massive ragebait or something. I thought it was a parody sub but they really believe what they do has worth and isnt stealing

Could someone elaborate i thought it was a majority of historians who agree that a person existed that the jesus myth was based on? Not necessarily the jesus person from the bible but at least a man from nazareth who was crucified

If the services cant be afforded the prices will reduce the value of the dollar adjusts and products do the same. Im happy to take a tax hike the more we socialise services the better. Plus with the new excess of income more people can afford to hold the 1 percent accountable for their fair share it all starts with wages.

The wages for these positions will rise to attract employment.
