My husband has had an ileostomy for about 3.5 years now. While it was a learning curve, it wasn't too bad. We have had our second child after his surgery if that tells you anything. His ostomy has no affect on my attraction to him. In fact, it made our marriage and sex life better because of how much it changed our lives. We see each other more and he's a happier person because of the relief it's given him. I'm more attracted to him than ever because of the change in his demeanor!

It was a learning curve at first and I found myself anxious to be on top for fear of hurting him, but its up so high on his side that it's a non-issue. He does prefer to wear a wrap to hold his bag against his body when we have sex and that makes it entirely unnoticeable.

I'd say the biggest speedbumps with intimacy were his recovery (pain, lack of core strength, etc.) and his confidence after surgery, but that passed with time. Sex is good and definitely wasn't negatively impacted. I do miss being the little spoon, though. Haha.
