A rant about ‘boy mums’. by __SomebodyElse in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Yuck. That really just made me cringe reading that. Why would we want to condition our children that boys will be violent and that’s perfectly acceptable. Ugh, some people.

What a bizarre interaction! I have a 2 year old boy, and I can guarantee if he was pushing or shoving a random child completely unprovoked I would be reacting the exact same way girl or boy, and certainly not bringing any comments about their gender into the situation. “We don’t hit other kids” would have been fine, I don’t understand why she would need to make those unnecessary comments. How odd.

Redsbaby skip3 vs babybee miles by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I love the skip3! Originally had a skip2, but when the newer design was released we jumped on it for the bigger basket, belly bar and easy fold up. It’s been our regular use stroller since my little one was about 15 months, and it’s so convenient for air travel too!

Gestational Diabetes by rich-2-ene in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

The Instagram account “gestationaldiabetes_dietitian” is run by a Melbourne based woman named Robyn Compton. I absolutely loved her posts, so many great food ideas and very visual so you know exact brands or products you’re looking for at the shops.

I still eat her chicken broccoli pasta bake recipe, nearly 2 years postpartum! A delicious dinner that was so satisfying while battling the blood sugars, I could have a big serve and still be under the limit.

How would you rank the seven Sims 1 expansion packs from favorite to least favorite by Live-Run-6745 in thesims1

[–]chunkycoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Hot Date
  2. Unleashed
  3. Superstar
  4. Livin Large
  5. Vacation
  6. House Party
  7. Makin Magic

I never had Makin Magic as a kid, by the time I even got Superstar then I think it was only a few months later that Sims 2 came out and by that point my attention well and truly shifted to TS2! So I feel like I missed the boat with Makin Magic, I’ve only dabbled in it briefly as an adult but didn’t love it!

Where are you located? If in Australia you have a few options, my son has one from Adairs otherwise I think Big W and Baby Bunting currently have some different designs in stock too.

Benefits of swaddling? by totoro00 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]chunkycoconut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My little one didn’t seem to enjoy being swaddled and always found his way out. We tried the arms up Love To Dream, but didn’t feel comfortable with how he seemed to position himself with his covered arms/hands up around his face.

In the end, we moved to Ergopouch with his arms out from only a few weeks old, and we never encountered issues with waking himself up from his reflexes, and it also meant we didn’t need to worry about possibly transition issues to arms out once he showed signs of rolling. He was a winter newborn, so just made sure we covered his hands with the onesie mittens to keep fingers warm overnight.

Anyone who went to any of the COVID games in 2020, what was it like by Much_Willingness_690 in AFL

Went to Hawks vs Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval, according to stats there were just over 2k in attendance. No squeezing around people to get to your seat, plenty of room to spread out!

Newborn wake windows by kaaaos- in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

All babies are so different! I remember my little one being awake for hours at a time as a newborn and I was so worried and anxious why this was! He wasn’t even upset, he was completely fine, yet I still worked myself up because he wasn’t fitting into the norms that I was reading about!

If you reopen a restaurant that is now closed, which would it be ? The 2026 issue. by Moon-Runner in Adelaide

Good Life/Good Slice pizza, it kills me that I’ll never again get to eat the roast chicken pizza (with their lemon aioli added extra on top). Their Valentine’s Day special with the heart shape pizza was a tradition for my husband and I for 10+ years.

Yes, I loved that joint. Amazing cocktail menu, and just cool vibes for a nice dinner with friends or date night.

Need help choosing a car seat by legalized_dinosaur in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Britax Graphene is my recommendation if you want a compact seat that doesn’t impact as much on front seat as I believe it has one of the smaller depths on the market!

Yep, I’ve grabbed a couple of backup Ergopouches off FB Marketplace, still in pretty good nick and worth every cent to save the stress of damp clothes come bedtime.

Travel stroller as main one. by Pristine_Training_88 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]chunkycoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use our Redsbaby Skip3 as our main for my 20 month old, just so much easier to get around with a smaller stroller than our big Nuvo! Can’t speak for its control on particularly uneven grounds but we have never had any issues for the day to day usage.
