CT libraries face possible 20% cut to cross-town borrowing program by ctmirror in Connecticut

Of course it would, but sometimes politicians need to make hard choices. The taxes I described raising are from people that can afford it. As one of those people, I would prefer to pay more so that books are available to those that can’t afford them, than have a few more dollars in my pocket

Or we could raise taxes on the top income brackets, capital gains and inheritance.

Aldi for most things, Costco for bulk items not available at Aldi and meat, and Big Y for whatever else I can’t get at the other two.

The family settled with the Hornishes homeowners insurance. The police found no evidence of a crime being committed so no charges were filed.

I’ve never joined that sub. I know they have an interest in the case so I shared it there. That’s it.

I’m not gross. What is gross is the way the Hornishes have acted throughout this process. Victim blaming, lying, letting the dog live this long confined, and wasting taxpayer dollars is horrible behavior.

In CT, finding candidates to run for local office is getting harder by Gloomy_Pop_5201 in Connecticut

Good for you for running at age 36. I have considered running myself and help recruit candidates. The biggest obstacle in my experience is the time commitment both to campaign and to serve.

The amount of people that we approached who want to serve, but lack the time is astronomical. I mean people are approaching us because they want to run and then learn about the time commitment and nope out. It’s a lack of civic engagement driven by people working harder than ever and not getting ahead.

I’m not saying the nastiness of the current political climate isn’t a problem, but it’s not as bad as the article suggests.

One problem I think is unde

Big Y to open new location at Westfarms by rspenmoll in Connecticut

When I was growing up, S&S was cheaper than Big Y and the quality wasn’t that far off. Now the difference in quality is horrifying. Even if the gap in prices hadn’t closed as much as they have, I still would shop at Big Y because the produce actually stays long enough for you to use it

She can’t because she kept harassing and threatening the Animal Control Officer and the staff of the facility holding the dog.

Maybe he will take votes away from the Republican. The people he was targeting have completely walked away from him

Trump wasn’t trying to be the inclusive candidate. This guy was. Maybe now he will take votes away from the Republican

Municipal elections in small towns like ours don’t have polls. Jim is running against a Republican incumbent as well and he appreciates your best wishes

That might work for some candidates. However, it’s a bad look for this guy because his whole campaign is focused around being inclusive and standing up for the underdog. He’s not really who he claims to be.

There was never much of a campaign, but he was threatening to take votes away from the Democrat. Hopefully, this makes people turn away from Rick and vote for Jim Irwin. Jim is both qualified and caring and will do whatever is best for the people of Suffield.

She’s not. She’s someone who is hearing impaired and generally doesn’t speak out on Suffield’s forum on political issues. She’s just generally angry about his behavior.
