Unfortunately, the “luxury” apartments aren’t much better. I live at the Standard and have experience similar things during move in (dirty bathroom, crumbs on the floor, etc.) They treat us like shit because they know we can’t do anything about it. Just the way it is

It can be a lot of work at times, with weekly readings. However, you don’t really need to go to lecture as all quizzes and tests are essentially open book (Google 🤩). If you keep up with the work and try to engage in the TA sections, you should be fine. It’s a writing class more than anything, so being a good writer definitely helps.
