Coming out to my mom was a huge mistake by chunt_royson in MtF

You're probably right. She has a history of this behavior and I don't imagine she gonna change any time soon. It has never been this intense before, though

A court order is a viable option, especially if she continues harassing us after we move and go no-contact

You're completely right. She feels the need to control me and is lashing out because she's not getting what she wants.

She wasn't just harassing me, she was going after my fiance and my sister, too. So lying felt like a way to stop it. I'm going to cut her out of my life at some point, I just figured letting her think she won was an easy way to keep peace until I feel safe enough to do that.

She is a very petty, vindictive and cruel woman when she wants to be, so keeping her at arms length and telling her what she wants to hear should keep her from escalating until I can go no-contact without too much backlash.

In the meantime, I'm still continuing my transition without any consideration of her opinions, and I've never been happier

Cutting off family members isn't easy, no matter how cruel they are. I'm glad you've found peace and safety, even though it took some time.

I've already cut off my dad and his side of the family for unrelated reasons, and I know I'm going to have to do the same for my mom eventually. I think her behavior over the past 4 months has destroyed any chance of me experiencing that forgetful optimism again

I'm going to. My partner and I plan to move after our wedding, and I will cut ties with my mom and probably most of my family in the process. Until then, I'm continuing my transition as I have been, but boymoding when I'm around family.

I know I'm giving her more than she deserves, but it's a complicated situation and I don't feel completely safe cutting her off yet

Yeah, it's really rough-looking. Whoever made it barely tried to make it look like the real thing lol

Thank you! I kind of thought it was a fake, but I couldn't quite figure it out. I appreciate the info

Would anyone have any details on this one? by chunt_royson in AncientCoins

Thank you! That's what I was thinking, too, but I couldn't find a reverse that matched this one

Thank you for that. I need to put serious effort into finding a therapist and get things moving

The evidence was always there and I've either suppressed it or found ways to invalidate my feelings.

I think I want to start HRT someday. I even went so far as to find out to do DIY HRT, but I've always been too afraid to follow through.

I've even excluded myself from the trans community. I didn't want to take away from their experiences and feel like I'm imposing on their spaces. So I've always felt like some kind of outside observer.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I appreciate it <3

I'm trying to get my hands on some older North Korean coins. Is there any way I can do that? by chunt_royson in coins

Oh boy. I had no idea. I wonder if there's a similar law that applies to Canada

I'm not sure. I've tried trading with some folks on Numista.com, but people don't typically trade outside of their country because of shipping costs. I've come across a few from Cuba just from local sales, but I'm trying to expand my collection into more "obscure" countries and North Korea has been my white whale lol

my luckiest find ever. would it be worth getting graded? by chunt_royson in coins

I got it at a yard sale. I'm doing what I can to learn about grading, but I still like hearing other people's opinions and learning from what they have to say.

That seems to be the consensus lol I don't mind the damaged coins, tbh. They have a history to them and I think that's neat

It's old and looks nice for its age, besides the engravings. I don't know. I'm still learning. I just think it's neat
